Default Dancers, watch out for those Shoes!

I just wanted to remind everyone to always make sure that your stripper shoes are in sturdy and durable shape before you go onstage. Usually those Lucite shoes will only last a few months.

Aside from making sure that you have enough traction or a non-slip pad on the bottom, always check to make sure the toe of the shoe isn't coming apart, as well as the heel.

I have some 7 inchers I love. Last week, at 11:30am onstage, I totally took a spill in them. Now mind you, in 7 years I have very seldomly ate shit, and never onstage without a pole to at least support me fall. I summed it up to clumsiness.

Today it began to happen again, but I was more aware this time and didn't fall. My right shoe was coming apart and I had ZERO control over it! Luckily I had a spare pare in my locker.

I think those Ellie shoes are the worst. Jante and Pleasers seem to last longer. Agree? Disagree?

    Any funny stories!

Be careful ladies, always practice safe stripping!

I just had a pair of Pleases self destruct on me after about a month. For what these shoes cost, the should last FOREVER!!

    Hmmmm...if they're only lasting a month, I would demand a refund...or replacement.

I paid about $90 dollars for my lucite shoes...wore them every single night for 6 months...and they are still in "like new" condition. They're a more "top quality" brand...I have a pair of Pleasers...and the heel started pulling after I wore them a few nights dancing (switched outfits).

Which brand lasts you Venus? I've also had stripper shoes last me years. I only have 4 pairs total, and I only wear 3 on a regular basis. I need to replace the heels, but my boots (Pleaser I think) are still in good shape........

I like Tony Shoes... Pleasers too... Thank God for glue, I check my shoes in the dressing room before I go out every night. A loose sole can fu*k up a set!

Heh, I have a pair of Pleasers I bought for $20 from some site on the net, 7 inchers, that I got in July of 2003. And they are still going strong, no tears, just scuffed up a bit. I think I got a deal!

I only ever have and wear one pair of stripper shoes. I've worn the same type/style for a year now. My last pair only died due to a rip in the plastic on the right one.

    http://www.foxybabes.com.au/product.asp?pID=1153&cID=61

Except I was able to purchase the "glow in the dark" heel base version. I only just replaced them the other week. The original pair (of the same type) had lasted (as I have said) nearly a year.

    I'm very pleased with them.

    Exotic Shoes
    Hand Made in the USA
is what's written on the sole.

I now use my still wear-able but worn out pair as my back up now.

I fell on my butt onstage in 7 inch Tonys that survived tropical heat and a year of being my primary pair. The heels were worn off and they had funky sole going on (heh.)
I tend to think the style of shoe/ how they fit helps in durability..
One dancer I know made a clear platform mule pair last FOUR years, they looked that old, but she obviously got her value......

I've fallen down a flight of stairs completely sober wearing a pair of Doc Martens. Flew down flat on my face. I have no idea why. I think I'm just clumsy regardless of the shoes!

I had a pair of Exotic's that was totally cute... they had a single band around the toes and a strap around my ankle. They were cute... One day as I was getting up from floor work the shoe slipped out of my foot and I had to take them off. Another time, as I was doing floor work the band around my toes broke and I had to take them off and finish my very fast and acrobatic stage in STOCKINGS!! All this only after 5 months of wear!! I hate the shit they sell to us; it's cheapily made and sooooooo expensive! the companies think that because we make money were stupid enough to dish out money on the cheap stuff they sell to us!! I've had it with them!! (sorry felt like ranting!)

I bought a cute pair of non-stripper platforms that cost me 10$, that never fall off my feet!! I had em for a while now and they are like new! My dress cost me 15$, it has a NICE supportive bra, NICE intricate lacy details and I've it for over a year now!! It does'nt even come close to the stuff you find in sex-shops!

    Ok I'm done now...

All I buy now are Pleasure shoes. I cant buy anything else....another reason why is I have skinny feet and its hard to stuff em into something and not have them fall out.

I have 2 pairs left over (blk, wht) but on the white ones the sole is coming up a bit. I guess I can get it fixed until I can get new ones. Mine are the most comfiest ones ever. I have found that www.snaz75.com has some cheap pairs.

I find Pleasers to be really good, and Luscious also seems good. Ellie is comfy, but not durable enough for dancing much.

I think some of how the wear also depends on how you dance. I know some girls who go through shoes in a month, and others(like me), who have a pair of pleasers from 3 yrs ago still going strong.

    Humorous story:

I had just gotten off stage, and my feet were sweating, and the inside of my shoe was slick, so as soon as i step off the last step, my foot slides to the side of the shoe, and bamn, i fell right on my ass about 1ft from the customers. I then had to get up, smile, and prtend it hadnt happened. Man was that embarrasing. Its not like on stage where if you're good, you can make then not notice a little slip.

Katrine...I have NO idea what brand the shoe is...however, I did get them from http://www.skyskraperheels.com.

Their shoes are higher priced, but they are much higher quality and they last for a long time.

It's always better to go in and get fitted and they have so much more in store than they do online...maybe when you come to Chicago, I can take you there.

I am one of those girls who is really hard on her shoes. I use the toes so much that I have to cut off the rubber that sticks off the edge and sand it down... A couple of pairs ago I was in a hurry and didn't 'prep' my shoes before I wore them. The rubber peeled back and I tripped mid-step and almost busted my ass on stage. Luckily, I was right next to one of the poles so I was able to grab on for dear life and stay on the stage! It wasn't graceful, but I didn't fall. My dj was a good sport about it and cracked a couple of jokes about customers drooling on the stage... I guess I should be glad to have made it this long with only one real blunder.

That's what it was! The rubber was coming off of the sole of my shoe, it leaves NO stability, crazy stuff!

I went ahead and ordered some cheapo sale shoes from Krystals.. They seem to be out, but 7.5" for $20. Happy falling on my ass, LOL!

Okay I have yet to eat shit, knock on particle board ( then again I may have been so shitfaced I didn't remember and the management is just so kind as to not ever bring it up... i like/love dots/elipses... that is what they are called?...I can just ramble)... I had a pair of clear by Delicious that I broke because I kept resting the heal (sp... god I feel moronic) on a bar stool's little rod thingy, Jante is a good brand, all of my other shoes have lasted the 5 years I've been working.

What about the shoes that have the super rubbery traction soles... it is like your feet stop but it feels like the rest of your body is going to go flying forward, I really don't like that & I still have yet to get used to it.

From selling the shoes and getting a good discount, I got most of mine from the adult shop I worked at. Mostly Highest Heel, Jezzie, and Pleasers. Here's some of them:

My first shoes were these. One pair in black, one in white. I still have both. The grip has worn off both but I just slap new ones on when I need to.
These are my darlings. I've repaired them a lot. The plastic heel splits from the patent part.... right at the very back.
My beloved boots are these in black leather with a black plastic heel/platform. Ellie I think. They had the same splitting at the heel as my favorite shoes. I've kept on with the glue. I love em too much.
These were given to me, used, recently. The strap pulled away from it's space between the cushion that my feet rest on and the plastic sole.
These in white were given to me, used, recently. Had to repair the zipper.
These in white were given to me, used, recently. Had to re-stitch the strap right where the metal "tongue" is at the end.
These were given to me, used, recently. Had to sew up a piece on one of the buckles where the stitching was coming apart.
I have two pairs that look similar to this, but I think they're no longer made. Highest Heel, I do believe. One is red with black trim, the other is black with red trim... both have the clear heel. I've had to replace the grip on these. That's it. They're some of my older pairs too.
I have a pair like these from my adult store. They have a metal ring that connects the two strips across the toes, though. They also have the slightly higher, more typical platform for the 5" shoes. Painful to wear, due to said ring. I think they were by Jezzie. I THINK.

Now, except for the ones given to me recently, the rest are 4-5 years old. Used a lot. Not too bad for all the crap I've put em through, LOL.

I bought a pair of Ellie shoes recently, clear 8inch, that lasted me a month. After about two weeks, the rubber bottom started pulling off and last week one of the heels fell off. Bummer....won't buy that brand again.

i have a pair of jante boots that i've worn everynight for a month and they're still lookin' good. I also have a pair of pleasers shoes that felt good at the store but if you wear them for more than 10 minutes the strap becomes ridiculously painful so I've had to put some moleskin on the inside of it, but they're still in one piece.
