    Default customers: funny dancers?

just wondering what you guys think of a girl who has a sense of humor. most girls i work with are a very sexy serious or get piss drunk and make tasteless dirty (often very un-p.c.) jokes. i try and be silly. example: one time there were a bunch of guys who were sitting at the bar not tipping the stage, making no eye contact and staring down at their drinks (they all came in by themselves). so, to cheer them up, i took a stuffed puppy whose eyes lit up, barked and waddled and sent him waddling down the bar. i got a 1 hour vip within 15 minutes. i mean, i can act sexy and all, but sometimes i just gotta be silly, especially when it seems that customers are bored or depressed. sometimes it's like pulling teeth trying to strike up a regular conversation, so i figure something silly will spark one. i just do what i would like done for me.

too goofy? annoying? how would you react?

Lol. I would've been bagging up if you did that. Then I too would've bought a dance from you. That's not annoying. I love a girl with a sense of humor. It's awesome. Sometimes I have bad days and I run away to the club. I try not to be an Eeyore, but life gets stressful and crappy sometimes, and any dancer that goes out of her way to make me smile gets my duckies. Kudos to you for being sensitive and creative.

One way to look at this is found in the animal kingdom, believe it or not. Yes, yes, i know. Just hear me out...

Animals like Zebra and Caribou don't live in herds because they're sociable. herding is a defense against predators. Large numbers of animals provide increased vigilance in keeping a lookout. Plus, attacking predators get confused then the herd scatters in all directions. Sometimes they literally stop cold. Show a predator too many targets and it often chases none.

The same holds true with flocking birds and schooling fish, all those coordinated group movements make it harder for a predator to pick out a single individual. Predators are often drawn to attack an animal that was distinctive in some way. That is one reason they seem to attack infants and the gimps so often, not only because they were easier prey, but because they looked different, a crouching lioness can get a bead on them. Pick them out of the crowd. In the same way, predators kill more males than females because nondominant males tend to hang out on the fringes of the herd, where they are more noticable.

In fact, thirty years ago when Dr. Hans Kruuk studied Hyenas in the Serengeti, he found that putting paint on an animal guaranteed it would be killed in the next attack. That is the power of difference.

What we can learn from this is: Stay together, stay the same, don't get noticed, and you'll get left alone. Do the opposite of those three things and you're more likely to get noticed (and in your case, get dances).

(Holy shit, i think i might have just made a post offering decent advice, someone get me my pills!)

    I absolutely love goofy.

I have a pretty quirky sense of humour and personality. And it is hard to find a girl that is the same. If you came up and did something like that to me, you would definately get my attention and business.

Sometimes a cute smile and laugh can be much more sexy than a "sexy" serious look.
Confidence is the sexiest thing a woman can have. It's much sexier than any body part.

Sexually, we are all competing for the same seat on the bus and the thing that holds it together is the tightly held conceit that we are all sexual gods. How can I believe in my own uniqueness when there's a cat out there exactly the same as me?

I agree with all of the above as it has worked for me. Even if someone has a bad

Silly is great. I used to act silly too when it was needed. One time on stage when it was slow, I started dancing like Elaine from Seinfeld (don't know if you ever saw her dance, she'd kick her legs out funny and jerky and keep her thumbs up, very funny) it got guys who weren't paying attention laughing and then up to my stage, then I went back to "normal' and made great tips.

When it was slow we liked making each other (dancers) laugh. It would keep you in a good mood even though you weren't making much money.

Being a goofball works good for me. The quiet/shy/antisocial/whatever guys usually crack at least a grin and a dollar when I toss jokes at them.

"Hey! Why do ya look like yer in the public library? I mean, You look like a Paige Turner, so whatcha think of this?" - and then I twirl around kinda slow and flash a silly grin.

    or

"Pardon me, I just got my ass on sale at Sears... do you think I picked out a good one? Does it look even to you? Can't have crooked ass, now can I?"

Or I'll be on stage, and mimic their sitting posture/position. Or curl up my hands into lil binoculars and stare at them. Or wiggle my hands and tongue at them....

And so on... and so forth.... it almost never doesnt work for me.

Well, most strippers are heavily painted.

    Yet most seem to live.

I fall in love with the goofy ones.

Yep, joke with me, come over and give me shit (in a friendly way) and just generally make me have a good time and you've got my money as well.

It helps your marks relax, and makes you seem a bit more 'real' to them, like it's part of your personality showing through the persona. (Of course 'funny' can easily be just another mask, but it's harder for guys to realise that - even if they want to).

If you wanna know the way you should act the best source of info is your personal regular customers.

each of them has a reason they choose you.

    1). your body
    2) your personality
    3) and just plain old chance.

watch the other dancers and the way the guys respond.

if a guy gets upto to go to the tip stage when a dancer starts her set
or leaves as she gets up or leaves.
who they get dollar dances from.
who they get up to talk to.

if your observent you can know more about your target than you'll ever need to know

Goofy has definitely earned me more money than sexy, no doubt. Of course, I am no good at all with the guys who don't have a sense of humor . . . But you'll have these guys who can tell that every single girl who's approached them is trying to be sexy, trying to be cool, so when someone comes up and tells them a bad joke, they can finally let their guard down and be comfortable. Some guys can't suspend their disbelief that long to think that women really find them sexy and want to crawl all over them; it's a lot easier to believe that we think they're funny and want to hang out and crack them up.

I agree with everything Susan just said, though.

I'll have to cast a dissenting vote on the issue of goofy dancers. I like them to be girl-next-door-sexy. The goofy stuff just tries my patience (you're welcome, come over and try some of mine sometime), and makes me think of a quick way to end the encounter. If I wanted goofy, I'd stay in my hotel room and watch Carol Burnett reruns on Nickelodeon.

Susan Wayward, I do like your Woody Guthrie homage, though

Ive always been shy to be silly. I always thought I had to be flirty and sexy. But, thats nice that it works for you.
Id take a silly girl over a sex bomb b/c shes nicer and Id enjoy time w/ her more. Money well spent IMO.

Just teasing, Nicolina. Sorry, I do that.

But, seriously, no. I don't find myself intimidated. Sometimes guarded. The goofy ones break through that more quickly. It's just harder to think of a goofball as a wallet lamprey.

The ones that try to be wierd are different. They can be amusing, but often bring this quote from the president of the galaxy to mind.

Finally. I've had that thing up for two weeks and you're the first to comment.

And I'm not that goofy at work; it was from a voter registration drive/burlesque show.

"Girl next door" sexy implies approachability, which I think is what we're talking about here; for some guys, a sense of humor is part of that.

I LOVE dancers with attitude or just having fun ( and I know its mostly an act, but hey, i like movies too and their pretend too). And yes men are intimidated by dancers, you are ...the unattainable. Every 17 yr old boys night time fantasy on two long legs suddenly walks up to him and asks if she can dance for him??!! Talk about tongue tied!

I love a girl to be playful, and that usually includes a bit of silly and goofy. I remember once seeing a girl onstage who made no effort whatsoever to dance, she just clowned around with the customers and every guy in the place fell in love with her. That was over 10 years ago and I still remember her vividly. But it's a real talent, it isn't something that most people can fake. I wish more dancers would appear to be having fun. It makes it more fun for everyone. Too many clubs have too serious of an atmosphere, especially the big fancy places. That's one of the reasons I tend to like small neighborhood places better, there's usually a more relaxed atmosphere. And more laughter.

Yea I like seeing dancers have a good time on stage and everywhere they are......eventhough sometimes I know its hard to put on a smile when you dont want to. But, making jokes usually eases my nervousness or bad day. Maybe itll help someone else...and get a dance out of it
