If you're currently working at a Canadian 'border' club, I'd seriously think about relocating !

I always carry mine. Used to live on CA border, got "carded" and detained every time ...I guess they thought a 20 something that looked like Carrot top and drove a beat up Jeep might be hiding something interesting!

Ha! I like how this reads. It is harder to get into the United States if your a citizen. If your not a citizen though and willing to get your feet wet you can slip into the US without a problem!

Being a citizen around here is becoming a liability.

Sadly, there's some truth in that assessment.

I also obviously have a passport so this isn't going to affect me personally.

However, I suspect that there is an ulterior motive at work here. In order to obtain a US passport, the person applying for it must be investigated by the FBI. This new law/rule will result in many more people applying for US passports, thus legally and voluntarily submitting to FBI investigation. I wonder just exactly what other gov't agencies the FBI will wind up sharing the results of their investigations with i.e. person X owns a home and/or nice car but does not have a 'straight' job ?
