    Default My Heart Surgery!

Well, I did it! The worst two parts were not knowing what the procedure would feel like and pulling the tape off the next day There is good news and bad news..Good news is I dont have tachycardia. Bad news is, Im just part of the 20% of people who have a fast heartrate of like 160 sometimes. I still have to take my meds as needed. But otherwise, I am fine and walking around. They went in with 5 catheters. The drs made my heart rate go up to 200. So all in all, everything is fine and grand, and although there is nothing to cure, Im normal! Thank you to everyone who wished me luck and thought of me.

Doctors are never fun....I hear ya. Glad you feel good. You're so young sweetie, be sure to take your meds and you'll be fine.

That is very, very good news. I had a scare a few years ago in the office. Had a heart rate of 165, and thought I had a real problem. I ended up getting diagnosed with tachycardia, but a non-serious type. I am not on medication, and have gotten used to the fact that once in a while .. . . my heart gets going a bit.

    Good luck! Stay healthy!

Thank you all! Rhia, youre looking a bit like a southern belle now Yea, Im glad its not life threatening too. I have to get used to the fact that I have a fast heart rate. Its so weird though when it is around 70 and steady, because it is usually faster and fluctuates more. But I can take my meds and know it isnt tachycardia, just a fast heart rate some people have. And when/if hubby and I decide to have another baby, Ill have to be back on meds again, of course. And as far as caffeine and chocolate go, I can have it, but of course its a stimulant and Ill have to take meds. Oh well though! Its not life threatening, and thats what counts!

I think it is very interesting. Perhaps we notice these problems more now, due to just advanced medical technology. The previous post is interesting, because, like a budy that I used to work with got diagnosed with a similar thing. Like me, he is a perfectly healthy person . . . but just has a fast heart rate at certain times.

The hardest thing I think you have to get to used to is the faster heart rate and more variable heart rate.

You just have to get used to going from 70 to 120 for no reason. I am not sure I will ever get totally used to it, but . . . it takes time.

Best of luck to you all.

RD! The best news is you should see steady improvement over the next weeks and that thought gives many people good feelings.

I feel better everyday, which is a good thing! My groins are a little sore still, but by tomorrow sometime I should be able to get back to my normal activities of picking up the baby, helping pack to move, ect ect. I just wish I could get all this iodine and damn sticky stuff left over from the tape off, lol.

I had a friend that had a problem like that and basically the doctor told her to avoid caffiene and that cocaine would probably kill her. Other than that even though it terrified her when she first had the problem she was fine. i'm glad you're okay too!

I’m curious if your accelerated heartbeat has anything to do with your thyroid/metabolism?

    Take care sweety, Hugz!
