???Bleaching roots with hair extensions (fusion)???

Hey guys! I have a question about bleaching my roots while having the fusion hair extensions. I have platinum blonde hair and regularly go to have my roots done every 5 weeks. The fusion extensions stay in for like 3-4+ months. How will I be able to bleach my roots (for my full head and I also have a toner put over it afterwards) without screwing up my fusion pieces (since they can melt easily when hair color is on them)? I need the absolutely need the toner on it to get the yellow out of it since my hair is so light, but I am afraid they will melt the pieces and break my hair off (after time or just the 1st time).

I have 2 different hair dressers, one for my dye-jobs (who hasn't dyed extensions and knows nothing about hair extensions) and the one who is going to put the extensions in. Should I be best switching my dye-job hair dresser to another one who is more familiar with working around extensions?

I asked my extension hair dresser about dying my roots, but all she just said was make sure that the dye doesn't touch the fusion pieces and that was just about it for root touch-up, but I forgot to ask about the putting the toner all over my head.

Please help me b/c I am wanting to get these fusion extensions ASAP.

    Thanks guys!

Hmmm, hopefully this makes sense (and hopefully I read your post correctly)...

Your regular hairdresser should be able to bleach your roots with no problem. She will just bleach the regrowth, and leave the longer hair (and extensions) free of bleach. As far as toning, could you just use a conditioning toner? I use Biolage violet. That may be enough to keep the gold out.

With so many people getting extensions these days, your hairdresser should be able to color your hair with no problem. Hell, my mom even mentioned last week that SHE was thinking of getting extensions!!!

    Thanks for the posts =)

She puts the toner on my hair after she washes the bleach out of my roots. The toner is spread out all over my hair and sets for like 5-1 minutes. So it definitely would touch the glue on the fusion pieces. This is my only main worry. Thanks, guys! =)
