    Default Restylane/Botox

I'm getting botox to make me stop frowning and restylane to fill in the beginnings of nasolabial folds. Who has had it done, and did your PS/derm do it or did a nurse do it? It seems a lot of practices have a nurse administering the injections and I really don't like that. And last, how long did it take for the swelling to go down - in other words, how long was it until you were presentable? Thanks in advance for any info.

I got Botox in betweeen my eyebrows to stop a perpetual scowl. My results were great and the only telltale marks were little puncture wounds with a tiny bit of swelling that were gone in a few hours. I'm sure you've done your research but I'd be extremely cautious about Botox around your mouth -- as I'm sure you know it paralyzes the muscle and you wouldn't want to end up with some kind of drooling issue!

i had restylane done on my nasal folds in jan. my plastic surgeon did it. it was somewhat painful. i had a small red mark on one side and was swollen. i went to work three days later but could have gone sooner. so really not much downtime. i am VERY happy with the results. i will redo this fall. i had 1cc. my dr offered 1/2 cc if i wanted more later

I have had the restalyne twice now. Last time was in oct and I need it again. I dont think it makes a big difference( doesnt really make you look younger) it just makes you look more flawless. I will continue to get it done though because when it goes away you really notice. Oh and I dont swell at all when I get it. I also get zylacane when I have it done.

The botox is just for the frown line, and the restylane is for the beginnings of some nasolabial folds. The medical literature reports granuloma or necrosis in 1 in 15,000 cases, and I'm praying it isn't me.

Thanks for sharing your experiences - did all of you have it done by a doc or a nurse in a doc's practice?

i disagree about not looking younger, i do for sure.

it was a dr that did mine with a nurse in the room.

i got a topical numbing cream but it still hurt some

A doctor did mine as well. I guess the looking younger part would depend on how bad the area you are treating is and if it makes you look older. None even my fiance and familly had noticed after I had it done.
