Exclamation "Touring" a club tonight, advice?

Quick, I'd like some help! I called a club and talked to the door person about getting a job there. They said they don't do auditions, but have an occasional ammy night. They said I could come down tonight, and they would give me a "tour" of the club. I told them I had no experience, and they said that was okay.

What should I wear? Is it just a tour, or is there a possibility they will ask me to dance? Or will they ask me to come back for an ammy contest? I have NO dance gear, and NO money to purchase any. I'm really nervous about not finding a job, because I have no experience. I've never even seen the inside of a strip club!

Any words of wisdom to calm my nerves? The best thing I can think of is smile, smile, smile! Try to make an impression! Anything else? I'm really concerned about the clothing issue. I really have no idea what one wears to a strip club....

I would suggest a cute/sexy top, jeans and heels. You may want to also plan on staying a while and checking out the vibe/milage of the club. I'm sure after you watch the other girls for a while, you'll feel more comfortable. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

It went really well! I have a job! I am now a stripper at De Ja Vu Showgirls. It was so much easier then I expected.

It's a 3 story club, with over a hundred dancers. There were only about 20 on shift that night though, not very busy at all, or so it looked to me, but the manager said that the girls were still making money. The girls I talked to seemed really nice, not catty at all. They have tanning beds, a workout room, showers, lockers, sauna, hot tub, and a little store that sells the girls dance gear. It seems pretty cool. I liked it, and my friends I bought liked it. It's a nude club, no alchohol, seemed like high security, I talked to a lot of the bouncers about that stuff. I like that they take care of their girls.

They didn't ask me to dance, or take my clothes off even! He just looked me up and down, and asked me when I could start.

My first night is Tuesday. I'm really excited. Monday will be spent grooming, and practicing my moves!

Oh, another thing. The girls, to me, seemed kind of boring and listless on stage. Not much smiling. Not much "dancing" going on. I wasn't as impressed as I thought I was going to be. Though a few did some awesome pole tricks.

Also, when they went around the floor, they asked for dances and moved on. Wouldn't it be better to sit down, smile, introduce yourself, ask them if their having a good time that night, and THEN ask them if they'd like a dance. The girls just weren't as flirty as I thought they would be. Not me! I'm going to be smiling and winking and flirting! I'm excited.

    Thanks for the replies girls.

Congratulations! It sounds like your going to do great.

Keep in mind it was slow so the girls may not have had their hustle on, I’m sure you’ll see the hustlers later in the week and on the weekend.

    Congratulations on the new job!

I still have that same level of excitement about the work as you have just starting out - I've only been doing this for about 6+ months, and I agree with your approach. Hopefully, if I ever get to the point where I am just listlessly wandering around half-assed hustling for dances, I'll quit.

I always flirt and make nice with the customers and, at my last place especially, always made a lot more than the other dancers did. They hated that, but so what?

Like I always say, it's almost 100% attitude!

I think that is really true. You could really tell wich dancers were "into" it, or at least looked like it at the outside. I hope my postive attitude can help me out with extra tips too. If it gets to the point where I'm really not enjoying it, am bored or such, I think that's really the time to quit or at least take a break.

And psst, I LOVE the quote in your signature.

This is almost like a good revue of Deja Vu clubs.
Its refreashing to see,i share the same positive outlook for the chain and the girls who work for them across the country.

They didn't ask me to dance, or take my clothes off even! He just looked me up and down, and asked me when I could start.
This could mean your a freekin hottie and he didnt need to see if you could dance or how you look naked.
When it comes to auditions or drive bye tours like this,if you like the way the club looks and feels, this is the best outcome possible IMO.
    Congrats!!!

    Its monday.
At this very moment, you could be standing in front of a mirror, bouncing on your heels, just to see how much jiggle yer ( . Y . )'s have when ya walk.
    Stop!!!!!!!

    RELAX!!!!!

You got hired on the spot!!!!!

Keep calm, your going to do fine!!!!!!!!
Oh, another thing. The girls, to me, seemed kind of boring and listless
    ummmm

    uhhhhhhhh

Never mind that, its like the thousand mile stare or shell shock.
It wears off when you retire,I swear.

You will see many different entertainers with diferent hustles, you will also see what they do to make money.
Watch the hustle and learn from the girls who seem to be making money ,but also watch the girls hustle who are not making money .Copy ,at first, the ones you want to be like until you can develope your own hustles and dance styles.

Im not justifying a drive bye dance request on the whole,i find them to be rude also,But.

Its 11.25 for example,an entertainer has a reg comming in at midnight for an hour of dances, so she has 5 mins to find a 30 min dance partner.
There are many entertainers who can just walk up to a random guy in the club and just ask,and get a yes.
Many of those type of entertainers started out with a "hired on the spot"like you did.
Yes i agree it can be kinda rude, but it can also be good time slot management.

I really hope you kick some seriouse ass tomorrow night and only wish i could tell you the secret on how dancers sleep the night before thier first night.

Thanks Stripperella and Big Green, for the replies!

Sadly, my first night of dancing is being bumped to Thursday, but this will give me time to practice a little more, and do some grooming. I've been reading a ton on this site, trying to get as much info as possible! I don't want to go up there and look like an idiot.

And yup, I've been prancing around naked in front of the mirrors all day, trying to "desensitize" myself. Lol. I think it is going to be a big rush to be naked up on the stage. The girls only dance one song at a time, so it isn't that bad. But I'm a little concerned about the pole, I have NO idea what I should be doing with it. I need to learn some easy moves!

Tuesday night is a bikini wax and practicing my moves. Wednesday is shopping for make up, costume and shoes. Thursday is the big night! I'm going to be doing a ton of yoga before then, try to calm myself down!

Psst, BigGreen... you should let me in on that secret. I hardly slept a wink last night.

Pish posh ...dont worry about the pole...just move slow and smile for now. Later after you get things down on stage as well as your hustle then try some pole tricks n things. Most of all look like your having a good time..smile wherever you are in the club.
One song is nice! I wish clubs here were like that. Every place Ive worked most of the time has 2 stages and 2 songs a piece per stage! LUCKY you
Good luck on everything let us know how it goes!!
