Default How much does it cost for you to be beautiful?

I thought this would be fun.

Since a huge part of being a stripper is our appearance, we spend a lot of money on grooming and maintaining our looks. Wonder how much the total is? Add it up.

We have tanning, gym memberships, plastic surgery, bikini waxes, laser hair removal, teeth whitening, pedicures/manicures, hair cuts, hair color, facials, body wraps, eye brow shaping, ect.

What's the total at the end of the month? Obviously, it's worth it since our jobs depend on our body and we have to take good care of it, but damn, I bet the bills are going to add up!

I decided I'm going to compramise. Kind of a splurge/scrimp system.

Splurge: Haircut with top stylist Linda English $130 plus tip
Scrimp: Box of dark red hair dye roughly $9.99

    Splurge: Bikini Wax $55
Scrimp: Shave legs at home, for cost of razor and shaving cream less then $10

    Splurge: Pedicure $30
Scrimp: Manicure at home, wich is easy because I keep my nails short, neat and simple. Just massage oil onto cuticles, swipe on clear polish

Splurge: MAC make up, too much because I'm an addict
    Scrimp: Crest Whitening strips $30

    Splurge: Eyebrow shaping $30
Scrimp: At home facials using stuff in the kitchen

I'm working the red hair/pale skin combo, so no tanning fees. I work out at home with videos, dumbells, and run around the lake, so no gym membership. Never had plastic surgery, laser hair removal or teeth whitening at the dentist.

I can't really add mine up yet, since I'm not regular with it at all. But I'm sure once I start dancing, I will be religious about it.

It could be like those Mastercard commercials!

    Mystic Tan: $29.99
    Boob Job: $5,800
    Bikini Wax: $55
Bringing home fistfuls of cash at the end of a good night stripping: priceless

    Currently... monthly...

    Hair cut/colour: $120
    Nails (acrylics): $90
    Tanning: $85
Makeup (excluding false eyelashes): approx $40
    False eyelashes: $12
    new costumes/shoes: $35-70
shaving supplies: $15 (kiehl's shaving cream) + $8 (venus razors)
misc. beauty products (shampoo, lotion, perfume, whitening gel, facial sunless tanner, home glycolic kit, etc.): approx. $30-$50

I have my own gym equipment so that is taken care of... I do my own pedicures... wax my own eyebrows... saving for a boob job and braces... can't think of anything else.
Currently dancing at the Men's Club of Reno, NV

hmmm, this is going to be interesting.

    fake tanner:$15
    hair cut/colour: 150
nailpolish(none of this manicure business for me):$5
    makeup:$30
    shoes/costumes:100

I'm only about a month in so this is all pretty estimated and not what my average routine will probably end up being. And I'm sure I've forgotten LOTS

    Acrylic nails: $40/month for maint.
Acrylic toenails: $30 for polish and maint.

    Tanning/self-tanner (depends on season): $40/month

    Makeup: $40/month

    Outfits/shoes/etc.: $75

Eyebrow shapes: Free from my salon fella :-)

Facial hair removal (lip, etc.): $8/month using sally hanson

There's likely more, but this is all i can think of right now.

Gosh i feel so damn simple....I don't go to the salon, or have my nails done.

I wear very little to no make-up daily. I use my shampoo mainly as a body wash when in the shower, i don't get pedicures, just clip my toe nails.

I don't get my brows done, as they don't grow. Lol Brush my teeth while hair soaks in the shower, shave legs and pubs the too....Done.

Gosh my only real beauty job i have going is i have to be on Retin A for the face, because i have basal cell carcinoma, and Retin A helps keep those "would be" cells from turning into pre-cancerous cells.

That's it. I brush my hair, put on gloss, a tad of eyeliner, heels skirt, thigh highs, and a top...Gone. I buy my own hair bleach or dye, do it myself. $8.50 when i want to change hair colours.

PS that's a beauty routine, not counting what i wear or own.

Here's my splurging run-down, which I did for about 6 months before I realized that I wasn't saving nearly as much money as I had wanted to:

    Monthly:
    Haircut/color at high-end salon: $160
    Tanning: $50
    Manicures (acrylic): $50
    Pedicure: $20
    Make-up/perfume/supplies: $50
    Costumes/shoes: $150
    Eyebrow/lip waxing: $25
    Shaving: $15
    Massage (twice a month): $120
    Chiro (once a week): $160

And my scrimping, which includes more up-keep and less buying new:
Haircut by friend going through school: $20
    Box of hair dye: $9
    Tanning: $30
    Manicure (at home): $5
Pedicure (at home): $0 (same supplies as mani)
Make-up/etc: $10 misc, but I'm running low on some of my faves and might have to go splurge soon!!
Costumes/shoes/etc: $20 - taking shoes to shoe doc and costumes to tailor to fix
    Waxing: $25 (same)
    Shaving: $15 (same)
Massage: $60 (4/month by massage student, tip $15/time)
    Chiro: $40 (once a month)

    *sigh*

Oh boy...I almost don't want to think about it....but here are my ROUGH estimates:

    Per month:

    Tanning: 100$
    Gel Nails: 60$
    Eyebrow waxings: 25$
    Hair cut/dye: 170$
    Hair Products : 30$
    Outfits: 50-300$+
    Makeup: 80$+
    Vitamins/supplements: 40$
Other Misc Beauty Products (lotions, shampoo, body spray, shaving gel etc. etc.): 200$+

I run, do yoga, crunches, push-ups etc. all at home (well, I don't run at home, but you know), I don't get waxed and I haven't had surgery (yet.) But I still spend alot of $$$$$, although, most of this stuff I would still spend on regardless of wether I was dancing or not!

    there's beauty in the breakdown

Very rough estimate.... I try to skrimp as much as possible the majority of the time and only spurlge once in a blue moon.

Tanning: 55 plus the cost of lotions
    Eyebrows: 25
    hair products: 25
    outfits: 30- 350 just depending
    makeup: 10-150
    vitamins/protein powder etc: 150
    gym: 35
    Misc: 50

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

My deductions (yay Canada!) this year for cosmetics and costumes are a little over $2500. That includes absolutely everything- baby wipes, razors, shoes, costumes, makeup, tanning...

    Feature costumes for sale!
