Perhaps when you lose sight of enjoying the entertainment and companionship, become obsessive over trivial details, and over-analyse everyone and everything?

As with anything, once an activity, object, or person becomes "common", it loses appeal. If you continue with the same thing over and over, you get burnt out. It takes a different amount of time for everyone. For me, I can last about 3 years at a job. A single source of entertainment, no matter how interactive, becomes boring after about 6 months. HOWEVER, after about a year after stopping, I can go back to it, happy as can be. For a while... LOL

It's a problem with human behavior in general. Note: it doesn't affect everyone, just a majority of the population. And times vary by person and action.

    Good old boredom.

A good question. I just got tired of hot, nearly naked women asking me to go home with them all the time. Sure, it sounds great and all, but after dozens and dozens of sexual encounters with different dancers weekly, it got too much. I am only human, dammit. Now, instead of going to strip clubs, I just go to where ordinary women hang out and try to impress them by playing my electric xylophone. It works - no more burnout.

It can get annoying after awhile to have these hot women rub up against you and get you all turned on, and then not to actually have sex with you. Then you finally go back out into the real world and find the type of women that will. They may not be in the same league as the hot stripper chicks, but the fact that they will give you blowjobs of their own free will can go a long way into making them seem more attractive.

When it's no big deal anymore, it stops becoming enjoyable. Take a year off, it'll be good for you. Or do what I do - I'm pretty much burnt out, so I only go with newbies, then you get to enjoy the 'deer in headlights' look that they all get. Particularly the young ones (18-20ish). Encourage them to spend waaaay too much money.

    ...but infinitely more amusing.

This is actually what I thought the post was about! Dancers do get burnt out on customers even when they are still spending money. The guys either get grabby, ask too many sick personal questions, or keep asking us out. Then, also if the oney starts to trickle we must run the other way, it is a job afterall, one that we pay to be at.
But then customers can get tired of a dancer as well, it happens all the time. People get tired of things when they continually do them over and over. I've known guys to disappear for months at a time and then come back every week for a few months.
It's like your favorite bar, eventualy you'll tire of it, but you just have to go back to check up on it once in a while!
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

I've had dancer burnout and club burnout but in over 25 years I've never had strip clubbing burnout. You just have to mix it up and not take things too seriously.

I've suffered burnout several times and have gone for long periods of time without hitting a club. In my case it usually results from one of two things: either my regular has moved on and I didn't feel like looking for a replacement right away (I prefer having a regular), or I've gotten tired of the cost and decided to spend the money elsewhere for awhile. Clubbing is expensive and at times I question whether it's worth it.

I think I may be permanently burned out. It's been about a year since I've been to a club, and I don't see myself going back soon. I used to go about 3 - 4 times a month in my heyday....
