Smiley how important is a tan?

i was just wondering if most girls go tanning and stuff. i have bleach blond hair with no tan. i don't feel like i look unhealthy, but maybe i would look bad under club lighting. i really don't want to go tanning because i'm worried about side effects and i burn real easy. are there creams and stuff that make you look tan but wash off? like bronzer or something? thanks, ladies.

I've used a Clarins Self Bronzer cream before and I thought it worked really well. I just spent some time applying it really even and letting it dry. But it gave a real subtle all over tan and not orange. I liked it. But right now I'm pretty white and you know, I don't think it matters that much - unless you're super pale and look unhealthy.

Do the Mystic Tan if you are worried about sun exposure.

The Mystic Tan is the booth is a sunless tanner where you stand in a booth and get sprayed with solution for about 30 seconds. I do it occasionally to supplement my regular tanning and use the level 3. If you are very fair skinned, the level 2 should be sufficient. It does not give me an orange color, and it's alot easier than applying self-tanner myself. It lasts about 5-6 days on me and fades naturally.

yes I've had that before it works, but make sure your skin is not dry before you go in or it could turn out patchy!

I don't tan. My hair is dark red (dyed) and I have pale skin, and some of the guys go crazy over it. There are tanning beds at my club for the dancers to use, and the manager said I had better use them because I would make more money. Whatever. I like the way I look, and haven't gotten any comments about it yet.

There is a new Jergans lotion, with a subtle shimmer to it, that is supposed to "bronze" your skin with daily application over a week. I think I will try that for a little healthy glow, but I like my pale skin otherwise.

As a blonde I find that being tan is important. If you have red hair or are a bunette it is not quite as important.

I like Nutrogena's tanning products, and have used the mystic tan before, but find it to be very expensive. I combine at home self tanners with indoor UV tanning, and am pleased with the results. The only real problem with self tanners is that to get them dark enough to make me feel happy I would have a real patchy look about a week and a half into using them. I've not expierenced any orangey color from the self tanners available today.

I work in an airdance club and many of the dancers use body makeup to look tan. Sally Hansen's Air Brush Legs works well, and now Sally Beauty Supply is selling a similar product, but I can't remember the brand name, but it is the same idea. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU GRIND ON CUSTOMERS DURING DANCES!! The makeup will get on his clothes and you will have one pissed off guy, and possibly pissed off management. But the makeup works well for spot management of bruises, or to cover patchy skin from self tanners, some dancers use it to hide strech marks, but remember the mess that this stuff can cause at work.

I'm very pale and actually prefer that look. I prefer to dress in a pin-up style and find that pale skin works well with me and have never had problems with it. If you want a tan, use one of the products mentioned here but you certainly don't need it.

IF "pasty white" is a joke-term that has been lobbed against you, then try fake tan. If pale works for you, roll with it- creamy pale skin is an indicator of good health.
I was born tan/ brunette and while it's handy, I always look at the Caucasian blondes working the room and think, Dang it, she's making more money than me! Blondes have more funds! (j/k)

My lack of tan makes me a lot of cash as a novelty here in FL. But everyone wears a tan differently. It isnt going to make or break you, though.

I just tried Loreal Sublime bronze airbrush mist. It works just as well as the mystic tan booths. But now I have to find a friend to mist the rest of me, you have to apply it arms length and that just won't work for your back unless you have help. (oooo and they were on sale for $5 a can, so I bought shit load, he he)

Tan vs. No Tan is a tough one. You'll find guys that like it either way. Kinda like BA's.

I personally prefer no tans on anyone. Naturally tinted/untinted (ie. brown, olive, pale, etc.) does it for me. For some reason though, I do like hair that has been messed with, like highlights/lowlights or even crazy colors. Go figure.

I think that a tan can make you look more fit.It definitely looks good with light blonde hair.I go tanning once a week for 15 min, that's enough.Going overly tan may not look as good either.I met some girls, though who had platinum hair and had no tan at all,and it looked great.Self tanners look good, too, but can be messy to put on.You can just experiment with different looks and products untill you figure out what works best.
    Good luck!

i got that jergens lotion that has a slight self-tannner in it. It does make me darker over a few days use, BUT it can turn out a little streaky/patchy if you slather some areas more thickly than others or if you put on clothes right after you apply it.

BTW, in the article section under personal care there is an article on tanning. Here it is:

As a custy, I concur. But then again, I like the pasty look.

    Two cents.

I love Loreal Sublime... I've never seen the airbrush one, I have to look harder. I've also just started to use the new gradual tan lotion from Coppertone, it's only been 2 days so I don't know how well it works yet.
