Default Help put a fellow dancer through school (no money required!)

Hi ladies (and gentlemen). I'm a dancer and sociology student in Sarasota, FL. I'm currently working on a term paper on "the social dynamic of economic exchange in gentlemen's clubs" (read: what do you do to make men give up the goods?) that involves field research. I've already interviewed some girls at my club, but I think a broader perspective would be awesome because of regional and even personal differences between clubs and dancers. Anyway if you feel like answering any of the following questions that would be wonderful. You don't need to answer all of them to be very, very helpful.

About me: as I said, I'm a student, and I've been dancing for about 6 months, because about 6 months ago I decided that I'm too cute to be making minimum wage. Although the club I work at is small and new and therefore not always busy, my experience so far has been awesome. I love getting paid to be hot. And since I like stripping more than schoolwork (why lie?) I thought I could temper the latter by including the former. Term paper on stripping? Hells yeah: nothing is more avant garde in sociology than subcultures and underworlds where academics fear to tread.

I hope that my choice to not include the orienting questions (age and all that) in poll form isn't a faux pas. PM me with any questions or gripes. Thank you!

It's probably better if you ask interested parties to email you, then you can email the survey back and forth, rather than getting them to answer it here.

    Good luck.

I wouldnt answer questions like that in the forum presented. You should do different polls.

    Age:
under 21 (I'm in Canada so you don't have to be as old)

    Average money made per night:
On a slow night? On a good night?
    probably averages out too 300-400

    Time in business? 0-6months

What do you like most about your job? the flexibility to work when i want and do what i want

What do you like least about your job? guys trying to ask you out or get you to go to dinner etc.

In your own words, how would you say you make money? by being nice and giving guys attention

What do you consider to be the most important factor of your earning potential: that is, what do you do or have that most enables you to make money? kindness (most strippers are hot, but if you're sweet to the guys THEN you make money)

What, if any, do you think the single most important factor is for a dancer’s earning potential? you have to fit whatever style you're going for. i.e. if you're the nice one you have to smile and be friendly; if you're trying to be the gothy one then you need to act appropriately to that mold.

What stereotypes do you think are most frequently held about dancers by the general public? that we're all on drugs/booze.

What stereotypes do you think are most frequently held about dancers by patrons of strip clubs? that we'll do anything for the right price.

How do you feel these stereotypes, if they exist, affect you? to me it's just frustrating, but i find most people can adjust their stereotypes (at least in my case) if they get to know me.

How would you describe your typical customer: that is, not just the average customer who enters the club, but your personal typical customer? an older guy who just wants a girl to give him some time and a smile.

What image do you think, or do you wish, you present to customers? that even though i'm killer hot I'm still a nice girl.

How do you personally think customers perceive you? I think they see me as somebody who is happy with myself and what I'm doing and I'm happy to spend some time with them.

How do you think these perceptions affect your earnings?I think they help my earnings.

Why do you think customers patronize strip clubs?some guys come with a big group for a fun, wild night. older guys may come to hang out and see some ass and interact with the girls.
