Default Too dramatic for a stripper costume?

Alright, here is my idea. I am thinking of getting a Princess Leia costume to wear at work, the metal slave bikini she wears in Return of the Jedi. I found a website that makes an authentic copy for about $300, which is pricey, but not as much as some other websites that make it.

As a customer, would this work for you? Some of my friends are trying to convince me that the Princess Leia bikini is every guy's biggest fantasy (remember the Friends episode?) and it's worth it to shell out the cash because I will make so much wearing it.

What do you guys and girls think? Too much or a good business strategy?

LOL. I hate to say it, but it's probably a safe bet on your part. Many of your clients grew up on Star Wars. I'd even wager that the ones that have no idea (Under 23, over 60) what the costume is from, will still love it.

Just be prepared for a bit of razzing, and lots of money.

I say go for it and be sure to post some pics of yourself in it.

Yes. To fully comment on this matter, I would first need to see pics. And lots of them. From every conceivable angle. Yes, a 3-D model might give me more info on this.

I think it would be worth it initially, but it might become more painful than profitable.

I am willing to suffer for my art, lol.

Actually I think the costume I want is made to look like metal, but is not actually fabricated from it.

Here is a link with pictures, not of me though, but the chick is pretty hot. The company that made this girl's costume is the same one I am considering.

    I just thought of something...

I'm not too far from resembling Jabba the Hutt, and I know a smattering of Huttese. Now I just need a twilek for a wingman.

I've never really been big on theme costumes, although I gotta admit that outfit looks hot. My concern is whether or not you'd be comfortable dancing in it. If you look uncomfortable or the costume is causing problems as you walk around the club, it may not be worth the trouble.

It would be cool is if you could get the "metal" parts made out of some softer metallic colored fabric. I think guys who've seen the movie would still get it.

It was never one of my huge fantasies, but having said that...

Go for it, it'll hit the right nerve with a lot of guys, both for the "Princess Leia" aspect, and hell, just for the general 'slave girl' theme.

I figure there's two basic personality types when it comes to sexual fantasies - those who are into domination, and those who are into passivity. Everyone's got a preference (even if it's not to a huge extent). The costume will appeal to every guy who's ever fantasised about having a firey (but pliant) woman willing to do whatever he wants.

Which is why I love coming out on stage in a red bikini to "Moving in Stereo."

I think GoldCoastGirl has one of these outfits; maybe she'll post on her results.

I think it's a good idea...if for no other reason than completely original (never heard of anyone doing it), I think you'll do really well.

Yeah...and don't forget to post the pics!!

Sadly, I'm old enough to have been going to SC's when the original movie came out. I don't remember a dancer ever trying the Leia outfit, surprising since costumes and theme sets where HUGE back then.

Do yourself a favor, buy the costume, don't copy the hairstyle and watch out, if you look half as sexy as Carrie Fisher did in it, there will be Light-Sabers popping out all around you...

Padme is hot but I like curves...Leia rules!

I think it is georgous. Even if some guys are not interested in the resemblence to Princess Leia, it is STILL a terrific costume, in its own right. My guess is that it will be a hit!

Now, you do realize that she didn't have those goofy side-buns in that scene, right? She had a long ponytail or braid thingamajig, it did look plenty steamy so you could go with that as well, IMHO.

I was never into Leia but that costume would work on a LOT of guys.

Good point, I had forgotten that the buns if steel where in episode IV, not in the celestial slave girl scene of episode V. Oh well, guess I was pre-occupied with the rest of her anatomy...

Padme or Leia??? How bout a threesome!?

Nope, definitely not too dramatic, but call me biased. I own one of these creations.

I haven't worn it to work yet for a couple of reasons: I need shoes, I need the braid, I need to figure out how to take it off and put it on more easily, and I need for it to be closer to the Revenge of The Sith release date!

I say go for it, but you best hurry, Posh Pixie will probably have a full calender very soon...
