    Exclamation Resist the Temptation

I decided to experiment with henna a few months ago and not only did my hair decide to turn a progressively greener shade of green over the passage of time, but now that I've decided to change my hair color the salon informed me I can only stay brown...that if I go back to a dark blonde with highlights (my blessed natural hair color) some mysterious chemical reaction will take place which will be nothing but trouble.

I'm so sad! At least my cut will be beautiful, but I miss being a blonde.

So, hear me now, oh ladies tempted by the natural qualities of henna...you might just end up screwing yourself over in the end.

That's odd, Indian women use Henna all the time and I am sure they still highlight their hair.
Why don't you get a second opinion, afterall Henna is supposed to be natural.

Really now....? Second opinion is probably a good idea, but the first opinion is super credible (teacher at Paul Mitchell salon school). Maybe I'll get highlights from someone else.

Well, do a little research, I might be wrong, right?
It's just that it sounds odd that he would use the phrase "chemical reaction" with something like Henna. I could understand a bit of a color change, but chemical reaction seems a bit harsh.
I'll looks around myself in the internet to see if there are an warning signs or something.

Here something I was reading about.
Also a tip was to brush your hair, take the hair that came out and experiement with that. This is also something should have done before you henna'd because bleached hair has the tendency to turn green, bummer right?
But if you experiment with the hair NOT on your head, you might be able to decide whether or not you can fix it and be blond again.. Good luck!

Different hair treatments have different results, some dyes are metallic and some are not... really crazy reactions can take place. You should trust professionals on this one. Green hair is not amusing unless you have the skin tone to pull it off... I wonder if I can spell today.

Henna was a horrible, unholy experience for me. I feel blessed that I have NO pictures. My hair was a metallic... *fly carapace* green until I CUT IT ALL OFF! The highlighting I have seen on Indian woman (hennaed) was from the sun so it bypassed the nasty quick chemical phase. Play with the hair in your brush as mentioned above but be thankful that at least *brown* is a possibility. Really.
