    Tipping DJ's and Doormen

I tried looking for this info and could not find it. I have been tipping out 10-15% of what I make on that night. Am I cheap? I am really paying for school and bills and can only work at most 2 nights a week. I'm pretty sure I make enough money to be considered average in my club. I feel bad when I can't tip a lot, but I am not being purposely greedy I really deposit the money and pay bills the next day. Any suggestions or pointers in the right direction?

If you are tipping the DJ 10%, that is great.

Some DJs will be nicer than others about getting smaller tips due to a bad night. I never care as long as she isn't bullshitting me, lol. If a dancer comes to me and says she made 50$, I'm not taking any!

Where I work there is a mandatory tip out of 7$ a girl, plus good shift pay. Most of the dancers will try to tip more than this if they have done well. I really hate keeping track, but I will notice if someone tips well a lot, or if they try to stiff me, lol. Some guys are anal about it, though.

You want to make a really good impression on a DJ? Be sure to tip him a little something if you leave early. This is one thing most dancers don't do.

    It's like this....

    ON A SLOW NIGHT:
Tip the min and tell the Dooman and DJ you had a slow night. Professional Doormen and DJ's will understand this. Great doormen and DJ's will tell you to not worry about tipping them at all.

ON A BUSY NIGHT: Tip them a little more. These guys get paid 7 bucks an hour to serve you. If you are going to walk out the door with $500 bucks, why not make it $460 and drop them both a 20?

    FOR A JOB WELL DONE:
If a Doorman or DJ went the distance for you, I think an additional $5 is in order.
