I work until 4 am, get in bed around 6. My child gets up every day between 10 am and 10:30.
I am ALWAYS dragging ass. ANd drinking MASSIVE amounts of coffee.
Does anybody else have the chronic sleep deprivation problem? IF so, how do you manage?

Oh, how horrible. I drank Diet Coke instead on a 5AM to 11-12PM day. Coffee occasionally, but that burns out some people more....
I hate to recommend pep pills, but you might want to try them as pick me ups. And on the weekend, sleep in. I know doctors say we can't "catch up' on sleep, but it worked for me.
Poor thing! That sounds awfull. Personally I can't nap to save my life, but could you get some in during the day? Also try to eat super healthy and get all your vitamins! That will give you the best energy. I also just heard that if you can expose your body to at least 20 minutes of daylight, especially early in the day, your body will be able to drop off to sleep a lot quicker at night. For you the timing would be a little different, but should still work the same.
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily

sugar free red bulls ans xenadrine work for me

I've had a sleeping disorder my whole life. Usually it makes me wake up every 10 - 25 minutes, the entire time I sleep. Insomnia comes and goes as well. I work 1 job from 5pm - anywhere from 9pm till midnight, the other from midnight till 8am, and I dance from noon till 2 am. I need either very STRONG coffee or lots of it, caffiene doesn't effect me as well as it does most. The first hour of my day usually consists of 2 Double Shot Espressos, 2 Rock Star energy drinks, and an ephedrine. I no longer do any of the powders to stay awake. Huzzah for that!

Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."
Yup, me too.
I get home around 3 and my daughter usually wakes up between 7 and 8. I occassionally will catch an hour nap with her in the afternoon. Other than that.... *shrug*..... we sleep in a lot on Mondays and Tuesdays. Heh.

Theres this drink called Redline its like Redbull but more lethal! I think they sell it at like GNCs and Vitamin Shoppes.
Besides that I used to take 2-3 Hydroxycut per shift of not more. Xenadrine I think would be a better pick me up in combo w. the redbull just like ChocolateKiss.

How old is your child? Do you have anybody close that you trust who could watch him/her for a few hours every other day?
My saving grace (besides Scorpio) was a neighbor down the hall from me. She would watch Makayla for a few hours after the day that I worked. In exchange, I would watch her son when she needed someone.
Something like that might work for you...

My son is 4. We did move his train table into the living room and loaded it up with every piece of Thomas the Tank Engine equipment he owns. He will play with that for about an hour or so, and drink a cup of Ovaltine milk, while I catch an hour or so on the couch. That helps. THere are some neighbors here who have little kids, but I am not close to any of them,. Maybe I will strike up a conversation with the lady across the street nest time I see her. other than that, I think I will try the Hydroxycut, as well. If it helps me lose weight AND stay awake, sounds like a win-win situation to me! And the vitamins languishing in my cupboard would definitely do more good in my body than in their bottle . . . .
I do eat relatively healthy, which is probably my only saving grace. That and I learned how to survive on little or no sleep when I was in the Army.
Thanks for the suggestions, ladies. Any more will be welcomed!

I have a suggestion--birth control!Just kidding, don't hit me!
It's really important to get sleep, y'all; I know it's hard when you're a mom, but you build up a "sleep debt." It's OK if you have a couple-few days where you don't get enough if you can make up for it, so try to get a couple of days a week where you can have some good, uninterrupted rest. Just taking a bunch of stimulants (in excess of a couple of cups of coffee or Red Bulls) isn't doing you any favors. I mean, doing rails will keep you awake, too, but that doesn't mean you should.
Paige, why do you work so much--and by much I mean three jobs? Are the other two just like really cool jobs for your future career or something? I am so very curious. I mean, I had what amounted to three jobs last semester (internship, college paper, stripping) and it was just about too much. I took a lot of naps.
