    Happy Hour Cheapos?

Are there a lot of cheapskates that come into your club during the hours of 5-7?

My club has drink specials and half-price appetizers, but no dance specials during this time. Once in a very rare blue moon, they will do a "flashdance" for a dollar per 30 seconds, but I havn't seen one in months.

During lunch, we have 2-4-1 dances until 2pm. The place is very busy, and I sell from opening until 2pm with no breaks. Lots of guys come in the afternoon and also get full-price dances.

But after that late afternoon slump, it seems that only non-tippers come in after work. Are they stressed from a bad day at the office and just want to look? The drinks aren't THAT cheap.

Should the club have more enticing dance specials?

Its so hard to sell to them that I usually just take it easy during my last hour, and am always out of there by 7pm....

    Anyone want to share???

Yes a ton of cheapos.. Why because the club that I work at there is no cover before 7pm, plus the happy hour drink prices. That's why I don't go in till 8 or 9.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

I'm too goddamn busy to go to happy hour anywhere. Maybe they're cheap because they have shitty jobs.

Monday - Friday until 7pm, they recently raised the price of happy hour drinks .50... I do not think that this has deterred the cheap individuals. Most of the time they at least tip the stages well, it is most annoying when they don't even do that.

Similar experience here for when I have worked dayshifts.

Cheap prices or "special" deals most always bring in cheap customers. When in these situations I try to just pick up a regular or two even if it is just a guy who stage tips after convo.

It is better than nothing and I find these guys can end up pretty loyal. They come in like clockwork to get that after work drink and a warm smile. Plus they are usualy good for a drink or food too which can be nice, especially if you work for a manager that pushes the dancers to help make food or drink sales.

The club I was just at had happy hour from 3pm-9pm with four drinks for the price of one - I thought it came off as a little desperate, but nearly every club in the area was doing something similar - then again a beer was $9 there.. *shrug*

In Bmore I usually did better with the 4pm-7pm crowd, before that I'd spend more time with the few customers that came in.

As a self-proclaimed Happy Hour Cheapo--I in fact used that term just yesterday. I do try to get to my favorite club before the cover charge kicks in, and to relax and have some drinks in a laid-back atmosphere. I am not frugal with my money though, and try to tip every girl at least once, more if they actually come around.

This keeps it relaxed and you get a chance to talk to some of the girls and it can be a fun and friendly atmosphere. It gives some of them a chance to talk to someone about how catty the other girls are being that day, or to talk about how things are going outside. I am an instructor at a college, and some girls have asked how to get enrolled in classes. I also am a CPA tax preparer and the girls ask for advice about that.

I go in for happy hour to unwind, and usually go home before 6. However, there are some nights when the wife is out of town or has a late meeting when I will go back. Then the girls that I know are friendly and have talked to can really start making some better money from me. I don't do private dances often in general, but will occassionally to help a dancer on a slow night.

I have heard from more than a few of the girls that on busy nights wehn there are a lot of college guys in there, that it is good to see a "familiar" face. Some of those college kids are just assholes.

From the club's perspective it makes sense. The girls are there, the bartender is there, the waitstaff. They are willing to make less profit on the drinks rather than no profit at all. However, I think it's a rotten deal for the dancers. As was mentioned, cheap drinks attract cheap customers. I think the club owes it to the dancers to do everything they can to attract lots of customers with money to spend, and to weed out those that only want a free show. Personally, I consider a guy that comes in and only tips on stage to be just as big a cheapskate as the guy that never tips. I can't pay my bills from stage tips and I don't know any dancers that can. I'm not saying that he must always buy some dances, but if he doesn't come with the intention of buy at least a couple of dances, he's a cheapo.

I am not arguing against drink specials. During the day, we have several drink specials per hour and I am constantly busy doing dances all afternoon, with little downtime. Its only after 5pm that things go downhill. Working between 5pm and 9pm can be 4 hours of wasted time!

When I worked in Houston you had certain customers who came in during happy hour just to eat for free. Friday afternoons were better as lots of guys knock off early then. Happy hour was a decent time to have your regulars meet you at the club and that is what a lot of girls do.

In some of the small town clubs I book in you get some "regular" guys in at 5 when we open, who just sit at the bar and drink, but never tip on stage or buy a dance. And also in these same clubs the money spending guys who have regular girls they come to see come in between opening at 5 and 6-6:30. All my regulars come in then, and never late at night.
