my, er, how shall i say, collar and cuffs don't match ?

so i've decided to tackle one issue that will face me before i start dancing and that is the ol' squirrel.

the problem lies in that the hair on my head is WHITE-blond and the area in question is, well, ranging from medium brown to practically black. from an aesthetic standpoint (okay, a stripping standpoint), how much does this color discrepancy matter? i know i am not fooling anyone with my bleached out blonde, i think it looks very nice, especially since i try hard to keep my skin fair, but obviously not natural. Even in my private life, i am a little embarrassed that, as my subject title says, the collar doesn't really match the cuffs....(ah, fur euphamisms are so much better than that tired ol' carpet and rug gimmick).

i've been going pretty naturally all my life, only trimming and shaping for comfort, hygiene and looks (i'm lucky enough to not have much hair in both thickness and area covered, in fact i've never had to shave to keep anything from sticking out of a bikini bottom). i like the look of some hair there, but it is definately not something i want to show off to the world, especially in a theatrical sense, so i'm definately planning on cleaning up mostly everything and leave a little bit on the top, front, but obviously "groomed" if you know what i mean. i went completely bald once out of curiosity, but it looks way too disturbingly childlike for my tastes. not to mention the fact it hurt so bad i couldn't sleep when it started growing back razorblades.

what do you think? i know even natural blondes have darker hair on their bodies, but this is a BIG constrast -- literally black and white. i wouldn't be against bleaching and dying (lord knows my head is used to it), but it certainly wont get white, and i wonder if having to constantly tone it to something natural from what hideous orange color it would be if i did that would be worth it.

advice or at least some encouragement that it doesn't matter much appreciated!

Two words..Brazillian wax. It's a small price to pay for the payoff. You don't have PAINFUL stubble and you don't have to worry about it for two weeks. Who cares what color it is when it's gone. Plus, guys dig the clean look. Face it, they are the ones you hafta get the attention of. It's just WAY less of a hassle...I'd also be afraid of chemical burns on my girlie bits!

First of all, no one is going to say anything if your pubic hair is darker than your head hair. I have seen plenty of dancers whose carpet didn't match the drapes and it wasn't even an issue.

Now, if you want to try bleaching: You only want to do this if you've just got hair up front. I would not want to mess with bleach that would have any chance of touching the labia minora or any other delicate parts. I just bought some facial hair bleach and used that (yeah, I did this once, but to dye it another color); you may need to leave it on a little longer, but it should do the trick. Use a toothbrush to apply it so you don't get a lot of bleach on your skin, which can be irritating. And if it winds up orange, oh well, you can go ahead and shave.

Anyhow, one of the girls I worked with who did this was puro Latina and the guys always thought it was so exotic that this Hispanic girl was a "natural" blonde.

I don't think dark down there and blond up top looks funny but I"m a female so maybe my opinion won't count. I honestly think it would be more strange to bleach it. I don't recall ever seeing anyone with that but there's a lot of coochies out there that I haven't seen so who knows, it could be a lot of people do it.

There's a product you can buy at any grocery store called "Jolen" made specifically for that purpose. It's perfectly safe on your skin and won't cause any chemical burns! You just apply it like a hair dye, all the way to the roots, and let it sit until the hair lightens to your desired color. Voila!

Also...it depends where you'll be dancing. If you will be dancing in only a topless place...you won't even have to worry about it. Nude...then you can either bleach it slightly or shave it completely.

I did have one guy take one look at the heart-shaped pubes and remark "so... you aren't a natural redhead, then." Now, my hair is an obviously dyed shade of burgandy, it's not a natural color to begin with. My pubes are dark blonde, that betrayed the fact the hair on my head was not the color I grew up with.
Since then, I've taken to dying them also, and customers say "hey, the carpet does match the drapes!" and only other dancers remark: "I've never seen anyone with pubic hair matching their head hair!"

Little interesting fact... apparently a persons pubic hair is the same colour as their eyebrows....

Personally I am a dark blonde, slightly darker done there. It hasn't ever been an issue but I have thought about "matching up before" so let us know what you decide to do.

^ HA HA HA! No WONDER I have black eyebrows...was a little curious about how I managed that with my natural brown hair color. How very odd.
