First I have to say, I don't give a shit about Jane Fonda, or her book. Why people are are so enamored with celebrities is beyond me.
What upsets me are the people who have been calling into the talk shows in support of this man and saying he was justified in what he did. He assaulted her, plain and simple. People seem to now feel that if enough people agree with your position, that it’s okay to break the law and not suffer the consequences of your actions. My feeling is that this attitude is filtering down from Washington from the likes of people like Tom Delay, who advocate violence against judges who don’t rule the way he thinks they should. People bomb abortion clinics or kill doctors because they say they are doing God’s work and man’s law don’t apply to them. Or tree huggers who vandalize SUVs because they are protecting Mother Nature. It’s almost to the point that if you say something about detrimental about GW Bush, you’re libel to get assaulted because you’re a traitor and the assailant is just being patriotic.
What worries me is that more and more peoples attitude is changing to where they feel justified breaking the law because, “the law doesn’t apply to my situation”.
I blame the Republicans.

Todays democrat leaders were the people who did said actions in the past. One doesn't need to condone what one has done already. And even then democratic senators, leaders, groups like moveon etc... have condoned said actions.
