    Dance Gear in Chicago

Well I have finally set the date, Wed, May 18th to hit the scene and audition. I need to know are there any stores in the Chicago area that sell clothing where since I'm inbetween sizes, I can try on to see if it works for me (versus guessing for online sites)???? The two clubs I'm looking at are both topless and I need something that's like a tube top where I can keep my stomach covered since it's not flat.

    Thanks!

I have heard of a place called Diannas, I think it is on Sacremento. I know several girls who shop there. If you get the exact address, please let me know!

YOu could also try Fredericks of HOllywood (they have one in Chicago Ridge mall, not sure where else) and also Lovers Lane. Pricy, but check the clearence racks. Akso, there is Taboo Taboo in the Ally, and Tragically hip on Belmont and another one just around the corner on clark. THere is also an incredibly cool shop, the name of which I can't remember, on Belmont next to Dennis' Place for Games, by the el tracks.

Lots of girls I know als shop at Discovery, Dots, and Rainbow. Those places are everywhere. Also, there is a dnacer on this board who custom sews outfits.
    Her name is Whirlerz.

    Hope this helps!

there's a fredericks at the woodfield mall in shaumburg and the place just around the corner on clark is call hot threads, they're not very big but when things hit the sale rack the prices get really nice especially on shoes. (the full prices are not so nice).

if you're on the taller side there's a drag queen store at the corner of halstead and roscoe with pleanty of gowns and sparkly things.

also on belmont between clark and the el there's a discount shoe store that keeps a few styles of stripper shoes in stock.

First go to Discovery. They have super cute tops for under $20. For shoes go to Pink Frog @ Clark/Belmont or Sunny Shoes on Milwaukee by Ashland/Division. I LOVE Sunny Shoes. They're always having a sale. I've never paid more than$40 for stilletos there.

Colleen, I think that the place you are thinking of is called Diana's Fashion and it's located at 1251 N Milwaukee Ave. They don't have too much stuff...but I got some really cute short dresses there...and the price is good...Sunny Shoes is right down the street.

compscikj...what clubs are you auditioning at? You said that they were topless...but I do not know of any topless clubs in the city besides VIP's and Scores. If you are looking to audition at those clubs...you need to have GOWNS...and booty shorts.

Hot Threads is VERY over-priced. Since you have plenty of time to shop around...go try on the different brands of clothing. See how each fits and then order the appropriate size online. It's what I did...and I saved hundreds of dollars as opposed to buying off the rack.

Pink Frog is on the East side of the El. Corner of Clark and Belmont (they moved their store). It has some cute jewelry...but their clothes are not exactly "stripper"-like. I haven't been there in a long time...but the only things I ever liked enough to buy from there were thongs and booty shorts.

If you are looking for great shoes...go to Skyscraper Heels (http://www.skyscraperheels.com). They are located at 2202 West Belmont Avenue. They're shoes are more expensive, but they last for a long time. No broken heels, etc. They also fit you for your shoes. The owner was a dancer and really cares about her product. I got my first pair of shoes there...and the other 3 pairs I got right afterwards were not as good. Finally went back and got a couple more from them and I love them all.

Default Actually in the 'burbs for auditions

    Hi Venus-
Actually I was going to audition at Allstars in Northlake and Crazy Rock in Romeoville, I went to the latter to apply as a server but they said they weren't hiring (this is after I called a few days ago and they said they were)....They're both topless. my FT job is in Elmhurst and I live towards Romeoville, so I had picked those two spots. I thought about Diamonds, but when I went, I stopped and chatted with the Coat Check girl and she said they were full for dancers (she's normally a waitress and business had slowed down, so they moved her over)

Diamonds has always been really hard to get into anyways.

Allstars may be good. Tree on here is a manager there (or at least works there). Maybe shoot him a PM.

The thing about calling SEVERAL days before actually going into a club to audition is that they have a large influx of dancers coming in for jobs. If you are going to audition somewhere, you need to call and inquire about the DAY you are going in to audition. Otherwise, they may find the 10 girls that they were going to hire in the days between your call and your presence in the club.

    Good luck!!
