    Default Thinking about it

Hello to everyone that reads this. Hopefully I can get some much needed advice. I have been thinking for some time now about becoming a dancer. I am a single Mom and looking to make extra money. I am tired of living pay check to pay check and not being able to buy things for my kids (other then the necessities) I have the looks and the body (I think) to be a dancer, and with practice, I'm sure I can dance pretty good. Little nervous because I don't know what to expect. Is it safe? What should I watch out for? What bad experiences have you had? I've been to Cheerleaders in Philadelphia, and it seemed ok. If anybody can share their experiences with me I would very much appreciate it. And where do I begin?????

    Thanks again.

i think the best idea for you is to read some similar posts, they'll probably give you a good idea of what you're getting into. Also, check out the club review section for what's in your area and details.

dancing is just as dangerous/safe as anything else. I think as long as you're careful and aware you should be just fine.

And as to what to watch out for, if something seems funny in some way, it's best to either find out about it before you get into it or to get outta there. Whatever it comes down to don't stick around somewhere or do something that you feel is unsafe under the premise of doing it for money...money won't help you if you get kidnapped/raped/whatever.

bad experiences? there are craploads posted on the site, do a search and skim through a few to get a grasp of that.

    best of luck!

Hi... I can relate...I am a mom too and can understand your concerns about your safety.
I carry pepper spray, make sure that nobody is following me on my way home, and I am ALWAYS escorted to my car by a bouncer. Don't give out personal info to custies, and I would limit the info you share with other dancers so that word about your private life does not get out.
By all means use your common sense and intuition. Don't date customers, or do anything for $$ that would put you, your health, or well-being at risk.
It is a great job for moms because you can set your own hours and the $$$ is great! I have been able to pay off my bills, save for a house, save for my son's school, and afford the "extras" (Sea World/Zoo passes, cell phones, cute clothes, movies etc.). Go to some clubs in the area and do research, find the place you feel most comfy in. Good luck!!

Heres what i did, i went to the club i was thinkin about dancing at, asked the manager if it was alright if they let me look around and watch some of the dancers (it's best if you go RIGHT when they open) They let me, and I had decided that if I liked it, and approved i would come back and try out, but it just so happened that I knew if I left at that point I would never go back, so I borrowed an outfit from one of the girls and tried out then and there. I'd suggest maybe bringing an outfit and stuff so that if you feel like trying out right away you can do it with your own stuff
