When it comes to adult nightclubs what is the difference between private clubs and public clubs. In Private clubs, I suppose you have to be a member of the club to get in, but what kind of membership fees apply? What is the reason for private clubs and why are they different from public clubs? Have any of you worked at a private club. If so...please enlighten me on this subject cause I'm thinking about looking into dancing at a private club, hopefully the cleintele there will be more professional and generous.

Are extras more common at private clubs than in public ones?

    Thanks-a-bunch

Most of the time there is a huge difference.... private clubs are often an "anything goes" enviroment. Personaly, I would avoid working in such a club as that just isn't my within my comfort zone work-wise....... now visiting with a friend or lover might be another story though

There is another type of "Private Club" than what H-K described though. In areas where the sale of alcohol is prohibited or greatly restricted, bars operate as "Private Clubs". Upon entering you legally "join" the club, usually by signing a form or something. In both regular bars and strip clubs, you can't tell the difference.

I guess it depends on why the club is private. In some areas, the way you get around liquor regulations is to be a "private club" where basically anyone can come in, they just have to pay a membership fee. Heck, I think the Penthouse in Dallas is technically a private club. The one I work at now is a BYOB "private club." But they are regular, open-to-the-public clubs and there is no real difference between them and other clubs.

Another type could be an invite-only setup, where they aren't really operating like an open business, and it's only open to people in the know or with a connection to whoever's running the club. These are likely to be a speakeasy, after-hours type of club, and the kind where you'll find a higher occurance of sketchy activity. I would avoid those.
