How I survived my first night..and had fun doing it!!

All of you girls who have been following my last few threads know that last night was my first night, and I promised to give you ALL the details!

First, I started getting ready at home. Hair and makeup takes some time and I didn't want to hang around in the dressing room freaking myself out! Plus the customers see you when you first walk in and I wanted them to see a beautiful, put together girl. Even outside of the club. Imagine ruining the fantasy by stopming through in sweats and flip flops?

On the drive to the club, I just kept sort of telling myself that I'd be fine, and that I belonged there. I listened to music that made me happy to get me in a great mood.

FIRST TIP- EAT SOMETHING! I didn't eat dinner before I got there and it ended up biting me in my ass later in the night. So no matter how nervous you are...eat something even if it's just a bowl of cereal or something.

So, when I first got there I went right to the dressig room. I arrived about 15 minutes early and set my bag down near the middle of the room. I didn't want to hide in a corner and make myself into a kind of target. You know, by looking scared to be there. I found an empty locker and put my street shoes in there. I said "hi" to a girl near me, and the other ones just ignored me. But that's better than getting hassled. Right away I started taking off my street clothes and putting on my nipple stuff. I brought my own so I didn't have to impose on anyone by asking to borrow. That would have made me look even newer.

SECOND TIP- IF YOU GO WITH YOUR HAIR AND MAKEUP DONE, WEAR A BUTTON DOWN TOP. I did this and I was so glad I didn't have to worry about screwing up my hair or face.

After I got my outfit on, I put on my clear deoderant and chatted a bit with another girl who was there for her first night. She seemed way nervous, so I tried to hang with her a bit. Shoes went on next and I was all ready to go out on the floor.

TIP #3- FOR YOUR FIRST OUTFIT, PICK SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL REALLY HOT. This will automatically translate into "I'm a smokin' hot babe!" up on the stage. Don't pick something because it's trendy, choose it because you LOVE yourself in it!

I went to talk to the DJ and he was really cool. He asked me what kind of music I like. He pretty much winged it for me, because I'm not real picky. I also tried to make sure if I did choose something I played more to the crowd than to myself. If they hate your music, they will most likey NOT TIP.

Next, the other new girl and myself had a little talk with the manager about house rules. He allowed us to ask whatever we wanted and helped us to really understand the rules. That helped me feel better too. Because as a new girl I didn't want to break a rule without knowing I was doing it. Like the one where we are only allowed to accept a stage tip IN OUR GARTER. Actually, I like that one. It seemed to keep the creep-o's from trying to rub me all over with a buck and crap like that.

Time for me to hit that stage!

TIP #4- OWN THE STAGE! You know what? You belong there and guys are there to see gorgeous women and give them money for being so scrumptious. And guess what?? THAT'S YOU!! Nobody dragged them there...they WANT to see you. Know this, and it will all come to you.

So for my first set I danced to some music I liked and it semed to go well for the crowd. It was pretty slow and I only made like 3 bucks on stage. But I wasn't up there to make tips. I was advertising my super hot booty to everyone watching. That way they could see that I was having a good time, I liked my job and most of all I looked fun to talk to.

TIP#5 NO ONE WANTS A DANCE FROM A GRUMPY LOOKING GIRL. What I mean is, if you look fun people will be drawn to you. SMILE up there, make EYE contact, sexy isn't always a sex face.

As for the moves I used. I did a few simple spins around the pole. Nothing too scary, but I did want to make the point that I wasn't afraid of the stage or anything on it. I tossed my hair a bit. I got down on th stage and did a little floorwork. Ha, my outfit was a mini skirt, thong, and bikini top. The first time I took down my skirt, it got hung up between my heel and the sole of my shoe. But I tried to remember the ultimate rule...

TIP#6-DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF. That means that little crap happens, but it happens to everyone and no one cares. I saw a veteran girl bust her ass on stage. She slipped on a dollar up there, and brushed it off. NO ONE CARED. So I bet, no one remembers my wardrobe issues.

TIP#7- ALWAYS SAY THANK YOU! That may be just a buck or a five to you, but that is someone elses money that THEY worked for. They are choosing to give it to you, and if you smile and say thank you, they walk away feeling appreciated. More people tip when you are sweet.

I came off stage and found a spot near the DJ booth to organize my three dollars and put my clothes back on. After that, I was off to check out the floor. I wanted to move around so that the people who were interested in me on stage could talk to me off stage. Fresh in their minds you know?

TIP #8- IT GET'S HOT OUT THERE AND YOU WILL GET SWEATY. Choose a good deoderant and you'll be fine. Even though we are wearing next to nothing, it is really hot up on stage. Just blot your face often and avoid too much powder because it will combing with the sweat and make you look gross. Drink some cold water too.

If everything you try is a sure thing, you aren't taking enough risks. If you never fail, you put a limit on the degree to which you can succeed. In short, the only way to win big is to risk losing

So, I stopped at a table with a couple of guys who were smiling at me on stage and talked a little. "So, have you been here before, this is the BEST club in the area!" - "Are you from around here?" - "What do you do for a job...oh that is SO interesting, tell me about that!" My philosopy for the first night hustle was to be the fun girl who doesn't try to close a sale in two songs because I'm not comfy with that much aggressiveness. YET. After I made my rounds I had several tables who knew I was fun and bubbly and I didn't push myself on them...I was hopefully building a little repior with them.
I got my first VIP dance and the guy was so nice! He was sitting with his friend and offered me a drink, it was early so I didn't mind. I don't drink much at work and NEVER past 12am.
TIP#9-A WASTED STRIPPER IS A WASTE. I saw a few of the girls do this, one even lost some of her money! If you get too drunk out there, you could hurt yourself. You don't look sexy anymore, you just look DRUNK. You won't be at your best so how can you make the best money? Someone might touch you in ways that you would otherwise not allow. MOSTLY you might not make it home driving drunk.
Ok... so I play the "wanna be my first??" line...and it worked like a charm! HA! We went back to the VIP and he gave me 30 for the dance and a 20$ tip. This guy was so cool, he kept his hands to himself (unless you cound calf touching...or my hair) AND he thanked ME! After dances I always try to find them again on the floor later and I day "thank you" one more time.
I try to pick out something nice to say during the dance. "Mmmm...You smell nice! What are you wearing?" or "I think that shirt looks really nice" Everyone appreciates a compliment.
So I continued with the stage stuff. I liked being up there, it's fun to be the center of attention. For two songs. LOL
The night didn't pick up until about 10-11pm. After we got more people in there, it was easier to talk to guys. I ended up getting 7 dances last night. One weird thing that totally got me a double (two dances from the same guy) this is so ridiculous and now I can't believe I did this...I saw this guy and his friends over to the side, and I was SURE this was an ex boyfriend from like 6 years ago. Like when I was 16-17. I mean I was POSITIVE. I walked over to him and I looked him right in the eyes...and I said "You look familiar, do I know you?" "Where are you from?" All the while staring down this poor guy. We determined that he WAS NOT said ex-boyfriend, and then he wanted some dances. Maybe he just liked how I walked right up to him and stared at him with my laser eyes of doom. LOL P.S. this guy totally tried to LICK ME!
So it hits 1 am and I am HUNGRY...this is where I wished that I had eaten dinner. Later when I went home I was SO nautious and I was sure I was gonna throw up. Plus I was tired driving home. Yuck.
Anyway, so they clear out the bar and all us girls go back to change. I just got my stuff out like I had been there for years and peeled off my nipple glitter and put my outfit away. Got my clothes on and went to tip out my DJ. We are supposed to do 10% but a lot of girls rip him off. I gave him 25 bucks, an actual 10 percent.
TIP #10- TIP YOUR STAFF WELL. Seriously. If it werent for the DJ what would you dance to? How would you know when it's your turn? IF the bouncers didn't watch your back...who would stop those nasties from hurting us? If it werent for the bar...how would the customers get their beer? Plus, you never know when you might need something from someone. Would you rather keep a dollar and lose an ally? Those people RUN the place for US. Spread the love!
    THE NEXT MORNING-
so. It looks like someone took a louisville slugger to my knees...and my tailbone.
my leg muscles are sore. and so is the middle of my back. and my lat muscles.
BUT I MADE 250 DOLLARS LAST NIGHT!!!
my last little bit of advice, If it hadn't been for my going to the gym and getting strong leg muscles, I can't imagine how sore I would be. SERIOUSLY. I have legs like a muscle chick (sort of) and they still hurt. GO to the gym and do squats. Work out your quads, hams and butt. You will thank me later.
If anybody wants to know about anything else, like more detail or whatever...just ask me here. I'll reply! GOOD LUCK TO THE NEWBS!!

What an awesome post! Glad to hear your first night went relatively well for you. Your attitude alone is great to see.

Your poor knees do look like they've been whooped up on!

Glad to hear you had a good night.. now the trick to success is remembering all the things you did right on your first day and repeating and refining them throughout your career cause you always make the $$$ when you're a newbie.

    Good luck and prosper!!!

Honestly if it weren't for Stripper Web and the help of an AWESOME CHICK (you know who you are! THANK YOU!) I wouldn't have done so well. I am so glad I found this place...

Bring out the frozen peas hun! I think you did great on your 1st night. I like your attitude keep it that way its great. You do look like Nancy Kerrigan after that knee thing. Those will go away in a few days..try to be nice to your knees on stage just for a few days cut out some of your floor work for a sec.

One thing that helped me was putting spray deoderant on my knees when I was new to help me slide w/o making ppl slip and fall. I used the Suave kind.
    Congradulations!! Keep it up!!

Velvet you are SO the photographer!

@RDG-I hear that after some time your knees toughen up...I can't wait! And this club is topless. That kitty is just one of my four fur-babies...

@ms.smith-as for shoes, there are really good threads on that but here is what I had to offer another newb.

EBAY! Seriously! I got a pair of shoes off there for 15 dollars! Just type stripper into the category of womens shoes. Anyway, Six inch is standard for heel size to start. Some clubs may let you wear fives but you have to call and find out if they have a minimum. Get at least clear or silver (goes with everything!) and black if you can afford it.

ALWAYS choose platforms of at least 2 inches that way there is a shock absorber between your foot and the floor. Plus that extra 2 inches makes that 6 inch heel feel like only 4. Buy one whole size larger than you actually wear, these things are made small. I wear a 6 normally and always buy a 7.

Cone or stilleto? (at least you didn't say "chunky" LOL) I think they are equally attractive but a cone might be easier to walk in. Choose something with an open toe and an ankle strap. The open toe keeps you toes from being mashed and the ankle strap keeps the shoe on your foot a lot better.

After you get used to them you can upgrade to slip on's if you want and even to higher heels. When you recieve them: Wear them doing housechores. Vacuuming is the best, because you have to pivot around and stuff. Practice a LOT! It will get easy and you'll feel SO sexy!

don't start dancing only in thigh highs. Your body WILL toughen up and will no longer bruise like that after a couple weeks. Yes it is true. When I started I got them not only on my knees but all pressure points on my back too. It's really gross but it does go away. We promise!

I am really glad that you had a wonderful/educational first night. But in your original post it seemed as though you are a little cocky about advice giving. Don't you think that you should gain a little more experience before you feel it is right to be giving out advice? Some of it is rather obvious. I personally am not a dancer, but my fiancee is and I am a bouncer. JMO but, the girls at our club aren't fond of Newbs that become "know-it-all monsters" So, I'd be careful about that.
