    Default eat before dancing?

What do you guys eat before you dance? I need to eat something because it gives me energy, but carbs make me bloated. Any suggestions for good energy foods that don't make you blow up like a blimp?

Anything low sodium. I eat sliced apples or some lemonade flavored water (no salt, sugar, or calories) they come in little packets to flavor your water. Sugar free red bull.
You should look at the type of carbs youre eating...if your carbs are full of sugar then you should pick something else to eat. Fiberous carbs are ok but not a whole bunch before a shift. You dont want to surprise anyone. lol

Steamed veggies, chicken breast drizzled with flaxseed oil.

The girls in the change room always hassle me cos this is all they see me eating (usually twice a shift).

I eat veggies all the time so they don't sneak up on me

Make sure you have some good fats with your meal (flax/olive oil, nuts, avocado) as this will help to keep you feeling full but will leave your tummy feeling flat!

Whatever I eat before work... I do so a half hour or an hour before I know I will be "at" work (since work -used to be- down the road for me).

Anything low in sodium, high protein and low carb... is the way to go... or if you are going to eat carbs... make sure you are active (walking, dancing.. whatever) within a half hour of the meal so you won't become sleepy (and use the carbs for energy).

I usually eat a salad and chicken sandwich on wholemeal bread. I have it over two sittings, usually just before my shift, and then a nibble during. I find that if I have a little bite during work, it stops me feeling hungry (or my stomach growling!)
I also eat some fruit and heaps of water to both keep me hydrated and feeling full during my shift.
