Default dancewear - what to buy at first

    Hi everyone,

I know that once I have more experience I will buy more dancewear pieces here and there... but I was wondering what you all would recommend as the sort of essential starters.

I ordered the shoes, but now I am thinking about how many thongs, what style, garters, bras, outfits, skirts, etc. What are the basics/essentials that I should have to start out with?

    Thanks!
    Katie

The minimum of 2 thongs in black and white...at least 2 colors.
You can do over w/ a few bikini tops and mini booty shorts for now.
Add some accesories ya know necklace, anklet, or bracelet and youre done.

No need to go out and buy something mega exspensive unless you work at a gown club where they want you to wear nice pretty gowns and those even you can find for cheap if you look in the right places.

I have ordered from www.stripperzone.com and they are located in the US but they are in Northern CA. I like their pick of thongs and bottoms ...pretty inexspensive too. Plus, I got great customer service from them.

okay. Well, when I started dancing...tee hee hee, I didn't go the professional stripper route, but I don't think I did too bad because I was already a lingerie fan by then anyways. Depending on what your club is like fashion wise, you might keep your eye out for girls selling their clothes. Sometimes they buy stuff that doesn't fit, or they just wear it once, and as long as you wash it really well and aren't buying from a dirty girl, you can get some great deals.
Also watch yourself because it's really easy to buy TOO many outfits at great prices, and then get caught in the always wanting to buy something new. Spread out the shopping so you don't go overboard.

Other than that, my prime picks for stripper must haves are:
*One pair of knee high or thigh high boots (some great online deals from $20-50 for basic ones)
*Six or so pairs of really thick socks (you could go through as many as two or three pairs in a night if you're getting super sweaty)
    *one miniskirt
    *one long dress
*booty shorts, thongs, and g-strings (even if you're just doing topless, the gstrings can be good for under the thongs for those two panty rules)
*One sexy long sleeved sweater (I have a zip up that's really body hugging and matches a bunch of different pieces; PERFECT for when the AC is cranked up and you're just hitting the floor)

    optional:
*slide on mules for when you're doing lots of dances, or VIPs
*sexy pants that you can take off over your heels
*a silk robe can be helpful sometimes for getting off the stage quick instead of dressing up there and holding up the next girl.

I started by using some Victoria Secret Lingerie (the Very Sexy line of bras and booty short type panties) It is a little more expensive, but I have like no boobs and the Very Sexy bra pushed me up and gave me some oomph. But, I did in the long run buy some dancewear, I eventually bought a lace two piece out fit which was purple lace bikini top with an itty bitty booty baring skirt. And the second was a baby pink plaid school girlish two piece that was anohter bikini top with an even smaller skirt. I have a ghettoish booty, so that sorta thing worked for me cuz i could showcase the best part of me (since I have no boobage)

If I were to do it all over again, I would have bought only 2 outfits, 2 thongs, and 1 pair of shoes. As I am gaining experience, I am developing a style that is my own. The hundreds I bought in the beginning could have been saved.

Yeah...just buy the basics, thong, shoes, top...for when you first start. As you are dancing a while, you'll kind of "fall" into your style. Once you find your style, then you can buy more stuff.

The lingerie from VS or even Fredericks is a good choice. Not too pricey, but sexy with class.

Oh, you didn't mention what kind of club you worked at. Do they have "restrictions"? Do they have requirements? For instance, my club you now have to wear booty shorts with gowns, and the slits in the gowns cannot be over waist high.

Knowing the rules/reqs will help you put your outfits together.

I would suggest going to a store that sells primarly dancewear, and trying a bunch of things on to see what looks best on you. That's what I did. Look at the other girls, and out what you DON'T like, and what DOESN'T look good on you. This will give you an idea of what to stay away from, so you don' waste money. You don't need to buy a ton of things at once. Right now, while I'm building up my wardrobe, I buy one or 2 things a week. I went to TJ Maxx, and got some really great bra and g string sets for cheap.

The best thing you can do is figure out your "style" and what you look good in. For me, it's colors like cream, chocolate and dark green. I stay away from neon colors, and prints, because they don't look good on my pale skin. Also, don't be afraid to try things different from what the girls in your club are wearing. I have a short, chocolate color dress and get a ton of compliments, because it's not the black or red like all the other girls are wearing.

    You need this definitely:

    2 GARTERS- white & black

    2 THONGS- white & black

1 OR 2 PAIRS OF COMFORTABLE SHOES THAT GO WITH EVERYTHING- definitely clear & maybe black

2 OUTFITS THAT MATCH IN COLORS- so you can mix and match things

This is all the "basic" essentials that you would need
