    Education and Software

Another amazing free deal is on education – free education.

The Centers for Education and Technology offer hundreds of classes at 10 campuses around the county.

“I think we are one of the best kept secrets in San Diego,” said Valerie Edinger. “We have quality instruction, state-of-the-art equipment, and it’s free. If you want to learn English, parenting skills, vocational training, computer classes, just a variety of programs.”

Students are also given a consumer card where they get discounts all around town. All you need is the student ID, which is just $2.

Once you have your ID, you can buy discount software at Graduate Ltd. in Kearny Mesa. There are educational versions of software available, and they’re up to 80 percent off sometimes, but don’t let the educational version scare you.

“They are exactly the same as you would find functionality wise in a commercial version, they're just a lot less,” said one store employee. “Visual Studio.net is one of our better steals – commercially it’s $999.99, and we sell it for $100.”

I thought this was cool and was thiking of trying it myself so I have something to fall back on when or if I feel like taking a regular job just for slow times.

Im sure there is a good program there CK. I just got that from the site; thank god they did the research. Check your local news stations websites.
I think on my spare time I will give that thing a try this summer. I would be nice to have some real typing skills and to learn some computer programs...did I mention what to do when your computer F%&ks up too? Maybe itll teach me to be calm and not throw the box out the window. lol

I know online you can buy software from educational sites for deep discounts but you have to usually provide your current student id and maybe verification of enrollment.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

Is this the same thing as the ROP program?

I took floral design when I was a high school senior.
