Default Star Wars Fans (I know there's a few of you on here, LOL)

Fan reviews look kick ass. Maybe Lucas hit it this time!

Fuck, why take a near to two decade break and THEN try to complete your multigenerational saga. Looks like Lucas got his sea legs back... I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan out there (I only got time to be one things die hard fan), but it's nice to finally see positive buzz about something i did dig as a knee-high grasshopper...

I'll be there. And Jar Jar doesn't even speak, and he's in it for about 60 sconds! WOOT!

Unfortunately, yes, BUT they are really saying he hit the mark with this one...

He should have made a couple shitty movies BEFORE making episode 1 just to get his sea legs back...

They said that 1 and 2 looked awesome as well.

It'll be a wait and see thing. I think I'll wait til it comes out to video.

Actually the sites i looked at said 1 and 2 looked godawful... But then i look at fanboy websites. Even the fanboys are chittering-a-chattering 'bout this one...

    It's encouraging...

Okay, I have a bigass star wars tattoo, so i can't front. I've read a few reviews, but I still have my doubts. The dialogue has been so shitty and wooden and just generally blah in the last 2 i was FURIOUS. Honestly I just try to pretend those 2 never happened. I will go see this one, but probably not until sunday of that week, when it's playing at my friend's drive-in. I walked out of episode 2, just got right up and split. i think i've only done that 2 or 3 other times in my life, Titanic being one of the other ones. Anyhoo....yes I will see it, and if it sucks as bad as the new figures do, i'll hunt down lucas and choke him with bantha poodoo or something.

OH HEY...(yes, christopher is saucy)...there's this new game thingy where you put a camera shaped like the jedi training ball thingee that luke practiced with on the Falcon( in episode:fuck you i call it episode 1....) on top of your TV and you fight with a small lightsaber. It's basic but rather entertaining, they have it at best buy and target and whatnot, it's like 40 bucks.

You're speaking to a girl who spent near $2000 AUD on a 'Slave Leia' costume. I bought my mid-night premere tickets ages ago. A whole heap of us are going dressed up to the local premere at the 'big' cinema here (Gold Coast).... hopefully this time around I will be the most photographed...

Purely ego the reason why I'm getting dressed up. I dressed up for Ep II and that was fun however no one knew who I was as you had to see the film first

I'm not as bad a fan as my flatmate and even a mate of his... I'm very mild even tho' i do have a Star Wars 'fan' streak in me.

I've been thinking up Empire-theme two-girl set ideas. I'm not a huge die hard fan either, but I am eager to see it and if I knew anyone else dressing up I'd go as such. Just crossing my fingers it won't be /as/ awful. And I was amused at the new figures [mostly because they called them 'Preview Figures'], they had enough senators so you could set up a senatorial debate over ten feet away exotic dancing . . . But those were only a certain line, the other ones I wasn't impressed with.

The lightsaber thing sounds really cool, I might have to check into that.

Hey Luna...if you wear one of those "Star Wars" themed costumes anywhere near me, I might have to check out the show sometime. They have a really cool lightsaber with sound and illumination at best buy for $129.99. It's cool, but not that cool. Actually I'm wondering if any fanatics are skipping work to show up at the movie theaters in full costume...maybe in New York or Los Angeles.

Overall i don't like the current arc, but I do appreciate the historical nods Lucas is giving.

They should have used something from the Extended Universe such as the Admiral Thrawn story or something.

I was thinking of how Lucas said this one was more for grown-ups in terms of the serious tone of the film. I was thinking it was a good way to show kids some of the harsher realities of growing up/ adulthood, such as people changing for the worse (Anakin becomes Darth Vader) people grow apart and sometimes love is not enough to fix everything (the dissolved marriage of Anakin & Queen Amidala, and the Queen's exile.)
Something for grown-ups to think of as well.

That's a nice way to put it, heh. Let's just say the action preceeding the line "Apology accepted, captain Needa" from Empire Strikes Back had to start somewhere...

Number 1 and Number 2 were fine, good even. They're serials, not dramatic art. Number 3 should be good as well.

Episode 1 put my six year old (At the time) kid to SLEEP... I'd hardly call it "good." Great duel at the end, though...

I wouldn't expect a six year old to have much of an attention span. Hell my five-year-old cousin walked away from Episode IV calling it boring.

Watching Star Wars when it was released (yeah, I'm old), having no expectations beforehand, was the most memorable moviewatching experience of my life. I can look at it now and MST3K it mercilessly, but it was eyepopping and, in its own way, changed movies, special effects, and presentation of science fiction forever.

So I got sucked into the whole franchise. I've seen Episode 2 just once, although I did enjoy particular elements of it a lot, but as long as Lucas would keep pumping them out, I'd watch them. Will Episode 3 make the grade? Hope springs eternal.

I saw Star Wars, back in '77 when I was 3-4 years old. I didn't fall asleep...and it kept me glued to my seat (big wanderer, LOL).

George Lucas has my complete and total admiration for what he's done for special effects. However, his ability to write a good, flowing screen play leaves much to be desired.

I think for the last movie, they are just making it more violent...simply because of "war" that blows everything apart...but also because violent movies attract a lot of people...maybe he thinks with more violence, people won't be paying attention to the lack of good dialog.

I'll see the movie...once it comes out to video. Heh. If I hear enough good reviews on the movie, I'll spring for the theatre...but I won't hold my breath.

Heck, yes! Especially that homo-erotic fighter assault on the first Death Star:

"Pull out, Wedge, you aren't doing any good back there!"
