Yep, got my tickets for opening night!

Star Wars 4-6 classic, 1 a snorer (may Jar Jar rot in movie hell), 2 was quite good (particularly seeing Yoda fight).

    I'm psyched!

I'm with you there -- had mine for ages now. I'm a 'fan' of the OT (4-6) mainly. Ep 1 I refuse to watch too many times due to Jar Jar just being jarring (he annoys the be-jezzus out of me!).. Ep 2 is decent enough however not a favourite.... don't see Ep 3 as violent.. just a turblent film.

My flatmate has already read the book and spoiled it enough for me already thru bonus footage he got from acquiring the Ep 3 soundtrack.

I'll be turning up in my Slave Leia costume.

Not really... I'll hopefully be well photographed by friends (using my digital camera) as well as local newspapers and so forth. Besides, I have that Centrefold spread of me in my full Slave Leia costume (as well as topless and nude - all tastefully done) come May 23rd week ....

Ok........so how many are going on opening day?

Group of us from work are taking the day off to see it. Go see the movie, then to the Bar afterwords

I saw in the paper today that something near an estimated $368 million will be lost on people calling in sick or taking a sick day hehehehhe
I've heard that a good signiture sets you apart from everyone.
    Well......is this good enough???

    Some Star Wars news stories

    http://www.entertainment.news.com.au...9-7485,00.html

    http://www.entertainment.news.com.au...6-7485,00.html

    ... and why shouldn't I "self-plug"

I loved doing that shoot, it was great fun. It will be one of the most memorable parts of my life I can look back upon with a smile as it is kinda a fantasy fulfilled for me. I "am" Slave Leia.. for that shoot. I'm excited as I've seen some of the photos... they look damn good!

    DONE!

    I've seen it!

I loved the movie.. really did help "bring together" alot of the OT elements... explain a bit.

Totally recommend it. I took quite a few photos last night. I also (naturally) quite a few taken of me at that premiere. I was on alot of peoples' mobile phones... and they sent that to their mates and so forth. I was looking good

Got my mug in the newspaper (going to check if the photos are released in today's edition or tomorrow's) .... and found out from a friend that my little 5 seconds of "fame" via one of the TV channels was aired this morning. I'm really really hoping that they will air it again sometime today.. or even on tonight's news... or else I missed it.. missed seeing what I looked like and how I sounded.

Most satisfied I turned up in my Slave Leia costume. One of the most popular costume for the night... and there quite a few people that did turn up in costume this time around.

I plan on downloading it. I'm sick of spending $50 so that my wife and I can see a fucking movie. Until ticket and concession prices go down I'm downloading any movies that I can't wait until they hit netflix to see.

Here's what my friend had to say.

"Got to see ROTS as part of a press screening today. There's some screamingly bad dialogue, and the first twenty minutes feels like the previous two prequels.....then it fucking rocks like a bitch. Palpy is brilliant, manipulating the hell out of everyone. The duel is fantastic, and the Jedi getting massacred is actually pretty heart wrenching. Mace Windu does inded not go out like a punk. Definitely the best of the prequels. Doesn't hold a candle to Star Wars or Empire, but it does kick Jedi in the nuts."

And you should submit your Slave Leia picts here.

I went with friends and saw it at the 12:01 showing. It was pretty cool, and all the die-hards that were running around dressed up were pretty amusing, I have to say. I liked it better than the other Star Wars that were put out, including the originals.

No need to hurry to see it. I heard on the tv guide channel that it was going to be playing in theaters until the end of this YEAR. Thats a bit much, eh?

Well, Sh0t, ol' bud, based on our level of agreement so far, now it's just shot to the top of my "must-see" list.

Yeah, I actually resisted both going to pee and having a smoke for the length of the flick. That doesn't happen very often!

It is worth going to see! And I was relieved to see that what I thought was true was not! Not spoiling anything though.

    OH MY GOD!!!

I loved every second of it, every... fucking... second... It has become my second favorite of the Saga as a whole, just behind Empire Strikes Back. The space battle is just fucking crazy cool, finally showing why Anakin was "the best starfighter pilot in the galaxy" as told to Luke by Ben in the original. The duels are totally impressive, and the climactic duel just rocked, it shot past the Darth Maul/Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon duel that was the only part of the godawful Phantom Menace in my pantheon of SW duels. The Dooku duel was shockingly intense and could easily have been a throwaway yet it isn't, those are the only ones i'll even mention (and that only because anyone with a brain knows they have to happen). But there are more, several more.

I'll say this about it, back in 1980 when i was convinced Vader had lied to Luke about his parentage, and in 1983 when i found out it was true, i always wanted to see how he turned evil, and i don't think i could have asked for more. The turn is subtle and you have to look for it, but when it is shockingly a no turning back final kind of thing, it makes total sense.

One thing you realize about Anakin is that when all along he should have been thinking about the Padme, the Jedi, the Republic, and the Galaxy as a whole (and he thought he was)... he was really only thinking about himself. It makes sense.

Doesn't redeem the last two (not TPM in the slightest), but it works on it's own. I'm tempted to disavow the last two and accept Star Wars as a four movie saga and just make the rest up in my head.

I guess I'm with Sh0t on this one, and the opposite of Madcap.

I thought it was pure drivel, which was expected based on the recent output of George Lucas. I could go into my reasons, but I doubt anybody wants to hear my hatin'. My succinct review is that it's the last movie of a trilogy that should have never been made.

What can i say, i thought it was great. I do have two beefs, though.

    *Possible Spoilers*

    1) There was some crucial shit left out. The thing should have been about 20 minutes longer to explain the ghostie thing, and Leia remembering her mother.

    2) Padme's initial denial that Anakin has done something terrible... when he did the same damn thing in the last movie...

I think there should be another one, I mean come on Luke and Leia are only babies in the end. What are they in IV 18-20? Thats a lot of years to be left out!! I'm with you Mad another 20 mins or more would have helped out a lot! I loved the movie, there are things I did not like about it but I liked it overall.
