Lucas has a live action TV series planned set between III and IV. Should be on the tube in 2007. I'm not sure how i feel about that, but it might be cool. Might really suck though.Originally Posted by big_daddy

I just watched IV to see how things matched up and I think they could have done better. Ob-wan tells Luke that his father wanted him to have his lightsaber. We know that did not happen. And Vader said that when he last saw Ob-wan he was not yet a jedi and we know he was. Can anyone else find any others?

And he Ob-wan had never seen R2-D2 or C-3PO before?

One more thing......Does anyone think they should now redo the last 3?

I dunno, he does give R2 a long look when he first sees it.Originally Posted by big_daddy
As for redoing the last 3, if he did the fans would crucify him. I'd say look for yet another "special edition."
The concerns about Obi-Wan are not valid. It's apparent that Obi-Wan had reasons for fudging the truth and even lying. In fact, he'd probably been doing so the entire time he was on Tatooine for obvious reasons.
The biggest plothole which concerns Obi-Wan (and I'm surprised I don't see this pointed out much) is that he completely forgets about Leia. In the second movie, Yoda has to remind him that Luke is not the last hope and that there is another.
Maybe he went a little senile.

^ It could have also been from the POV that Leia was not "powerful" enough in the force.![]()
From a different point of view (har har), Yoda might not have been talking about Leia when he said that in ESB. After all, at the end of it all the Emp was handing Luke his ass anyway until someone else entirely whacked him.Originally Posted by afxturnip

God, i can't believe i'm having this discussion on stripperweb...
I'm heading out in a couple hours to see it with my son (he wouldn't let him mom take him because he wanted to see it while he was with me
Hopes:
1. No ewoks
2. No Jar Jar
3. No cutesiness
4. Hoping this is indeed dark as Hell...evil...disturbing....BRING IT!

Well, I saw the movie opening night and it was everything I expected and more. I simply loved the movie. I thought it filled-in the gaps well and althrough there were a few oddities with continutity, Lucas did one hell of a job. We can argue those points all day such as giving the hand-me-down light saber etc., but all in all, I thought the movie was great. A+ in my book.

I've seen it twice and loved it both timeshehehheeh
On the subject of Leia. I thought about this too. But remember when Luke asked Leia about her mother, she said that she really didn't remember much of her, just that she was beautiful. Yes...they might have been babies, but she has 'the force' as well, and probably the preminitions that Padme had.
The one thing I would have like to have seen:
SPOILER ALERT: ***********************************
When Yoda left and said he was going into hiding, I really wish that they would have shown him going to Dagoba and his reasoning for going there.
Overall though........I think that he did a VERY good job tieing up the loose ends.
Oh yea...I did read that Lucas is looking into doing a TV series that will tie in EPIII to EPIV. Don't look for any big characters in it, but it would be nice to see something along the lines of this to keep showing how the rebellion really got a foothold.
I've heard that a good signiture sets you apart from everyone.
Well......is this good enough???
IMHO I would of added some more to the seduction to the dark side. Played to Anakin's ego and grudge with the Jedi Council.
"They say you are the prophesied Chosen One. A powerful Jedi to bring balance to the Force. How can you do that if you do not understand both sides of the Force? If you are the Chosen One, should you not be powerful enough to control both light and dark? How little faith your Jedi masters have in you Anakin."
Anyone notice 9 out of 10 times prophecies are bad? Look at it in math terms:
The Chosen One to bring balance to the Force.
Hundreds of Jedis.
Two Sith.

Mad, when I asked about redoing the first 3 I did not mean to change the script at all just with new actors and todays fx.

I loved this movie. The more Anakin leaned to the dark side, the sexier he got. I really wasnt' in a good state of mind to watch the love story part of it because I almost lost it when he and Padme first got reunited at the beginning. My boyf is deployed and I kind of figured that's how we will embrace and look at each other when he gets back. I can't wait to watch it again with him.
Oh my God - what a pile of crap. Anakin is STILL a whiner, and his move to the dark side was totally unconvincing. The battles were good, and that was about it. The plot was sad, and my original vision of Darth Vader as the greatest bad guy ever has now been replaced with the vision of NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Sad....I'm very very sad.

Darth Vader is still the greatest bad guy even with the NOOOOOOO. I thought it was pretty funny personally as I linked it with Luke's "ugly face" NOOOOO that I laugh at everytime I see it..
Yes it isn't the "best" movie ever however it is definately the "best" of the pre-quels. As for the final three being re-made... OVER MY DEAD BODY! I would be one of the first who would cruicfy George if he did that... esp. Return of the Jedi...
I like and prefer the Original Triliogy due to the lack of special effects... and due to the actors within the movie.
As for Obi-Wan in re: R2D2.... remember R2D2 was primarily Anakin's droid NOT his.. Obi-Wan primarily had the red ones. Plus he is an old man in the OT... spent alot of time in isolation (away from technology).... and it is 18-20 years later...
I've only seen it once (opening night)... only due to work I havn't seen it again even tho' I would love to see it again. There is parts I do not like.. however it did draw me in.. I enjoyed it... and that's the main part.
I don't like to "over think" my movies. I'm there to enjoy the movie.. nothing more. It's not perfect... yet it is still v-entertaining in my books.

Just got back from seeing it again, in fact.
As for the "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" thing, i think the line could have been delivered better, but that's it. Easy enough to get JEJ to just do it over for the DVD (here's hoping).
"Coooooome to the darrrrrrk siiiiiiiiiiiide."
"No."
"Yesssssssss."
"No."
"Please?"
"Well....okay."
Totally unconvincing.

Actually i got that the turn started in the opera house. After that there was something visibly gnawing at Anakin.Originally Posted by MojoJojo

Darth Vader: And princess Leia is your sister.

All fathers lie to their children ... you know... "the moon is made of cheese" and stuff like that. Darth just went a little too far.

Because there ain't no tits on the radio

I've seen it a total of twice now.
At the mid-night premiere... and now since I'm back from Melbourne.
There's an extra 45 minutes (or around 6 scenes) being added INTO the DVD release.
I watched one of the OT the other day.. when Darth appeared.. I was.... that NOOOOO has changed how I see Darth. I understand why the NOOOO ... just that the way it is delivered...

Scorpio finally got me out to go see this sequel. Although the writing is clunky and it started kinda like a teen learning how to drive a stick shift for the first time...by the middle to the end of the movie...it was really great. I thought it really tied everything in well. It would be nice to see something about what happened to Luke and Leia from birth to 20, though.
And, yeah...I'd go see it again...![]()
Well, don't waste your money on the first few versions they release. If you wait a few years, you'll be able to get the entire re-vamped DVD's with hours of extras. LOL...kinda like they did with the first 3 movies they released. They released the movies...then re-did and re-released the movies...then the next year, the "golded" the movies and re-released them...then by the time all was said and done...I knew some fools who bought the "library" each and every time to get everything in them. I waited til the *last* release and bought it.Originally Posted by GoldCoastGirl
