Default so i just had lunch with a friend..

..who is a customer. this is not something that i normally do. I've only met one other regular outside of the club for a meal. the point of the story is that he got me a beautiful $3000 diamond necklace! This man cuts diamonds and showed me such beautiful diamonds today, some were even 4 carat. ( I wish he gave me one of those! haha)

He says he has another surprise for me. THe hints are that it is something you can enjoy, something that women love, and possibly something that you can do.
I can't figure out what it is and I have to wait a week.

He is doing this because I wouldn't tell him my name all night and gave him hints to make him guess. It's fun but I wish I could figure it out.

How nice! Friends that are customers like that are very very special and it's hard to keep one for a long time. I've known some girls that have had friends they have seen in that fashion even after they retired.

Diamonds are a girls best friend!
    Good luck to you.

thank you. I know, I am excited, because it's hard to find customers like these that you don't mind seeing outside of the club. I don't rack up many gifts and when I do it's usually just cash, so this made my day.

Sounds like a beautiful necklace. I wonder now though if he's expecting $3000 worth of sexual favors in return....

It's sad that there are people desperate enough for companionship that they willo give a $3,000 necklace to someone who won't even tell them her name.

To quote Woody Allen: "A relationship, I think, is like a shark, you know? It has to constantly move forward or it dies. And I think what we got on our hands is a dead shark."

Do you honestly think a guy who gives you expensive gifts is happy with the status quo? He may just ("just") want sex or he may want to be your bf. Either way, the important thing to admit is he wants (and is communicating via gifts) a desire to move the shark forward.

Part of me thinks dancers ought to milk these men for all that they can; part of me feels sorry for these guys.

A bit of my own experience here: an OTC dancer early on in our friendship mentioned pointedly that she wanted to erase a $1400 debt. When I took no step in this direction, she dropped the subject, never mentioned it again, and we remained equitable pals until the friendship ended of natural causes months later (she moved in with a gorgeous studly boy). To this day, I'm not sure whether or not she had other, OTC guy friends---ones who did offer to help with her "debt" problem.

Some people have more money than good sense, which all in all works out well for us. Would you rather have that man treated shabbily by some other person who was simply out to get what she could from him and then dump him in a dejected heap?

Of course I have seen some of my co-workers do that very thing and that is what makes me sad.

I didn't say it was wrong to accept the gift. By all means take it. I was only commenting on the poor guy.

Neither did I. I love gifts personally, what I was saying is that he sounds like he is at least being treated well. No one twisted his arm to do anything..

When in perhaps another circumstance he could still be doing the same thing and get treated like crap. see? Just my view, no more or less. No one should be treated badly.

I've bought $300 gifts before ( 2 boyfriends, and 3 family members)and other people think I'm crazy, but I can afford $300. Apparently this guy can afford $3000. a $30 gift from the heart, given and received with joy, by someone who can afford it is no different than a $3000 gift given in the same spirit by someone with more $$ to blow...... A lot of the joy in gift giving is in the giving.

Ok, you're too hung up on the $ amount of the gift. Of course the $ value is relative to what the person can afford to give. Hey it's possible that the dude has $100M in the bank, meaning this is like pocket change to him.

The gifts you bought are for real people who are in your life, people who you see as equal. This person, and similar SC customers buy gifts for people who don't let him know their real name, are not equals and are not 'friends.' You may refer to each other as 'friends' but that's not what it is. People who are actual friends are worthy of knowing your name, meeting family, coming over for dinner, etc.

I'm not saying that a customer/entertainer relationship could not go there someday but I'm sure that is not the norm.

He wants to have sex with you.

Now, he might not go about asking you to sleep with him outright. He may keep his hands to himself and not be too obvious about it. He may seem supportive of you and your happy relationship with someone else.........BUT.....

He wants to have sex with you.

Don't kid yourself. I know it sounds harsh and jaded, but that's how these things work.

Now that doesn't mean that you shouldn't enjoy the diamonds. Cause they are a girl's best friend. Just don't be too surprised when the day comes when your "friend" wants a return on his investment.

Maybe he just likes to give gifts to a wonderful woman? Some guys just love showering the right woman w/ tons of special gifts. Im saying this if it was a middle class guy to the super rich guy. I think this is fine as long as everyone knows where they stand.
I say enjoy it as long as it lasts!! I certainly would never turn down a 3000 necklace!

Good for you. I'm sure if it turns around and he wants sex, you will be a big girl and handle it the right way. That is an awesome gift and definitely don't take that to work. My lord, the electricity would mysteriously get turned off and then all of a sudden you'd have an episode of pink panther or something.

Well.. it was also mentioned he is a diamond *cutter* so bandying the dollar amount around (what it is worth) is relative to what he might have actually invested in it. He might be sharing his skills and pride in work and ability to produce and share such wonderful things. Regardless, it was a beautiful gift and sure he may want sex or sure he may just like giving gifts to pretty girls he enjoys pending time with and it may just be pocket change. So what? I'm sure, as Shloe said, you can be a big girl and handle it appropriately.

    Yay for diamonds!

Well, baby, of course he wants to have sex with you. Big deal. Probably lots of guys want to have sex with you. Probably every girl here who has sold a dance sold to someone who, given the option, would fuck her.

We all make the assumption that he can afford to give away $3000.00 necklaces like candy, because that is what he is doing. He probably give them to all his favourite dancers. It's probably like buying a girl a drink to him. If it isn't... well, he can't expect her to know that, can he?

You are SO lucky. Customers keep giving me plush toy animals, which are cute and sweet but not like diamonds. I want a teddy bear with a big diamond in it, like in Disney's "The Rescuers." Heh.
