    Default Quit rigging amateur competitions!!!

    I hate that!

My first amateur competition, I got second. I would have had first, but it was almost admittedly rigged. During the voting, the "set up to win" girl got to be judged last. I had the highest applause on the meter. We were supposed to be clothed for the judging, and stand still. Well the meter was damn low for her... she looks to the dj.... the dj tries to pump everyone up. It doesn't work, so she rips her top off and the crowd goes wild. Obviously they didn't disqualify her. She would have gotten third had she not done that.

So I went to an amateur competition last night. They kept saying a third girl was coming (takes three to start), but no one arrived. It was supposed to start at one. It was about two when they told me and the other girl that they had someone. The girl showed up around 2:30 am. How suspicious. She was very cocky. Very sure of herself. When she went to the bathroom, the dj told us not to be discouraged if we lost. What is that?? So the first girl goes up, dj riles up no one for her. Says her name and that's it. I go up. DJ reads my hobbies, intro's me, that's all. The last girl goes up, and the whole time the dj is saying things like "come on guys look at that ass, wow" and "lets give her a hand". He read her whole survey, AND her song was a techno mix of some pop song.... that was about 8 minutes long! It was so obvious what had most likely happened. They didn't want to lose customers, so they called someone they knew (the girl had told me she worked at another club) and told her if she would please come in, she'd win. And tah dah.

I'm SO mad. She went home with 500 dollars, and I drove 2 hours for nothing. WHEN WILL THEY STOP RIGGING AMATEUR COMPTETITIONS. I'm so fucking sick of it. If they want new girls, they should let the new ones win, not some girl they happen to know and let in for convenience.

Okay end rant. God it just makes me so mad.

A lot of clubs will get their dancers to do "Amateur Night" to fill the amount of girls doing it.Sometimes they don't have enough girls, that's why they do it and also the favoritism.

    owch.

Ok i know it wasnt our ammy contest at the papermoon on wed,in Richmond Va,downtown(shamless plug i know)We had 5 girls this week(that was a low count)!!

Just so you know, they are all rigged in a way, just like any contest in a strip club involving civilian females. Its a baited trap.
The whole object is to get new girls to work at the club. The clubs aint givin away 500 bucks just to see your boobs once, they are counting on females who are scared of being on stage, seeing the potential money they could be making, becomming suddenly "Unafraid".

Its like when a drug dealer gives someone a free hit or two at first, then they got ya hooked.

For us to do the contest,we have to also have 3 girls.

It sounds like they were in a rush to find a third girl,so they can have a contest period.
My guess is the dj called a girl from another club that they knew and promised them 1st place.
Think about it,how many strippers,on thier night off, would come in and do a contest,at the last min,at 2am, for anything less then 1st place??
Small clubs run into this problem often when doing a contest on a weekly basis. Its just plain hard to find civilian females who are willing to strip(and sober enough not to fall off the stage while doing it)
Top clubs can rig contest, but not as bad as smaller clubs.Pick your contests wisely.

The only thing you should be worried about, because its the only thing that matters....

Did they offer you a job??

    Disclaimer:::::
The club i do the ammy contest at is the top club in the state and does it with the largest Clear Channel Radio station in the state. We have Judges,On air radio jocks, and local business owners who are there, and im the dj running the contest.
We cant use ringers,we cant stack the deck,we cant run a rigged contest, period.
The club and every sponsor of the contest runs the risk of loosing to much if we tried to cheat.

    BTW
I didnt agree with the results of this weeks contest.
A black girl won who could really dance and looked good, but the white girl who came in second place was more marketable to our demographics and got the best crowd response.
Had this contest been rigged, the white girl would have won imo.
My opinion doesnt mean shit,i dont get a vote,i just gotta read the results.
Both were offered a job, both start next week.

What they both won was a chance among the elite, the only difference is, one had a better 1st night then the other.

Yes. I was offered a job when I first was shown the dressing room, before I ever got undressed. This club looks to be bigger than the rest in the area. I heard good things about it, even from people here.

Man it doesn't discourage me per say. It just makes me bitter. I mean, if I had won I'd be working there right now (well okay maybe not today because I'm sick, but asap). I mean, I could use 500 dollars. And it may be a bit selfish, but if I were them, I would want to give it to someone who would be most likely to work at the club. *ahem*

    ahhhhhhh but wait...

They can also be a good thing.
For top clubs that dont take alot of girls often, its almost like an audition in a way.

Never miss an oppertunity to get your foot in the door of a good thing, and thats what an ammy contest can be,and was for this young lady.

Its also a way for entertainers to upgrade clubs,or jump on board with a bonus so to speak.

Heheh, my first night was an amatuer night, I got second. Prize was only $50 anyway. Another time they told me to come in for an amatuer night, but they'd cancelled it due to low customer turn out [I guess they didn't make enough to afford the cash prize? *shrug*].
The club I'm at now has amatuer nights very rarely, if I go to a club with them regularly I want to do what one dancer at my first club did, dress as ridiculously as possible to put the real amatuers at ease: one time she was a drunken prom date "I'm gonna win *hic!* even if I didn't make prom queen!", another time a granny. Always very hysterical and she made a ton from tips, agreed never to win.

*shrug* Eh, on one hand, I think it's dumb to rig them, on the other it's more like audition night rather than amatuer night.

Personally, I hate Amatuer Night... I think most club dancers will agree with me. Takes the spotlight off the dancers who are there daily to work. The clubs I've worked at had them once a month... had to have a larger minimum number right off like 5 or 10... not just three (maybe because they had a 2nd and third place)... awarded max $250 to the #1... and started at 10 PM... not 1AM. I would just as soon not work that night. Just punk customers who are excited about the concept of "amatuers" who usually look worse than the club's own collection. Real amatuers don't have the dancer clothes, stage/pole abilities, etc. And like feature shows, keep customers hanging out near (but not at) the stage and out of the private dance area (where the amatuers aren't).

Yeah they told us if we used the pole, we were d/q'ed. lol

I was told I can come back next ammy night. I think I'm going to try it again. I was told you can go until you win it. But once you work there you can't participate. I'd like to win one before I sign on at the club.

Welcome to the world of stripping.

I've seen some contest that were rigged.(although I can attest that the one at BigGreen's club is not, seen it first hand). My club has a big contest every yeat and there is always someon saying that it's rigged, that so-nso shouldn't have one/placed and only did beacause......

The easiest way to rig an amateur/wet T contest is to pack the audience with your buds to scream like hell for you. We do a wet T every week at my club and girls with small boobs will say "I can never win", if you bring a crowd the $$'s yours, seen it happen over and over.

I would agree, alot of girls dont have the right hustle for the crowd that comes in on a night like that and some dont do as well as they think they should have with the amount of people there.

    Lol i agree,but its a man thing...
The only thing better then a naked woman is a naked woman we have not seen before.

And like feature shows, keep customers hanging out near (but not at) the stage and out of the private dance area (where the amatuers aren't).
Please dont think im questioning your hustle,we agree on the punks that are there, its just my opinion, but they are not the target, those guys are just there to fill the room and drink the beer.
If you focus on them, your sure to have a night with little money, grab marks, and VIP room baptisms.

Its the guys who come in with the contestants, the guys who usually would NOT be there, thats your money target.
Its the guys who are there to support the ammy!!!
Those are your new regulars, ripe for the picking!
Guys who are not usually in strip clubs.
The best way to get in is to approach the girl who is going to be in the contest and be friendly, your target is sitting at the same table. All you gotta do is figure out which one he is.
Your already at the table, befriending his horse in the big race, your in like flynn!!!If your brushing his horse before the big race, your already on his good side.
    Now work it baby!

Yes you can still make great money at an ammy contest without targeting these guys,it all depends on the entertainer and her hustle. But if your not making money, and you have to work an ammy contest, its just a suggestion, but I would at least try to target these guys and see what happens.

Best of luck to all,the ammys and the girls who gotta work that night.

MAn, thats terrible, but not as bad as my friend who goes to every amateur night (meant for beginners). Shes worked like 4 clubs over 2 years, dresses up really crap like a member of the public who never knew style, to go to these pole competitions. They call her up onstage and then she does like 10 tricks she knows out of the repertoire of 40, like she just learn them and the crowd go mad for it. They think she just walked in off the street.

So far shes won 4 competitions worth a lot of money and it pisses me off. I think its really unfair to those who really are amateurs and tried os hard to work the stage.

I know a lot of seasoned dancers that go to "amateur" nights. I don't know why they are allowed to win, but as long as they haven't worked the club before they are allowed.

I HATE amateur nights, I pay to work at the club so why is someone able to come in and possibly make more money than me because she was too "shy" to get the freaking job herself. It's not that hard to get hired at my club (anymore). It used to be difficult to get hired or so I heard, but now the owner wants as many girls there as possible. You walk in, say you want to work, you "try out" and usually get hired, but you still have to pay the house fee like the rest of us.
The amatuer night is another way to get people in the door, but it doesn't help the dancer morale to have a new girl come in and get paid to do what we have to pay for ourselves.
I know I know it helps the club, but I don't see how it helps me.

Plus I believe college guys get in for free, or that might be a different night, even so I haven't met many college guys willing to spend any money. It's guys with jobs already that spend.
Well, I'm working my first amateur night on wednesday so I guess I'll find out how fair it is myself and whether or not these customers that come in for it are there to spend money or just enjoy the idea of being in a strip club. Grrrrrr......
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

Erm.. yeah, I've never noticed the customers who come in with the ammys spending much money, at least off-stage. I've worked several, and when I was an ammy, the two guys who came with me on my ammy night bitched so loudly about having to pay the cover and the soda costing $3 that they got a free refill. The atmosphere isn't condusive to selling dances or private rooms except to customers who didn't realize it was a contest or don't care, as the "Stay tuned! Don't leave your seats! Soon we'll be having the contest!" when the actual contest is two hours away. And we let ammy's do lapdances [club took 1/2 out of the $20, so it was in their benefit to let anyone do lapdances], so the guys would rather pay his wife $20 to do a lapdance rather than $40 to get a couple's dance [guys couldn't 'just watch' without paying full price]. At least that was the way my club handled it.

I just went about making my money as if it was any other night, with sometimes "oh I wish you the bestest of luck during the contest!"

In the 2 contests I entered, I got 2nd. I should've won both. This is how I lost:

A professional dancer packs the club with her female friends. (Ladies get in free.) Her female friends scream for their dancer. The paying customers vote for me. The female friends scream louder and throw dollars at her. The paying customers don't care about me that much to make asses of themselves.

    I lose and receive $50. I say that I lose because I lose a night of work. $50 = 2 dances. Even though I am a working dancer, I consider myself a newbie/amateur.

I'm never doing another contest. These contests are inappropriately titled. They should be called Stripper Dance-Off or something.
