Default whats the BEST cheap hairstrenthener?

I just bleached my hair and need to find any leave-in hair gels, creams whatever and deep conditioners that will add LOTS of strength to my poor, patient and damaged newly-blonde locks!Since Im on a budget, Im looking for drug-store or Wal-mart level stuff, except if the hair-potion is SOOOO miraculous its worth the$$$. any secret-hair-weapons you can share would be a blessing!

I bought a hair strengthener, not realizing that it's meant for use by black women.

It is made by a company called Soft Sheen, and it comes in an orange bottle...

It has ceramide (sp?) proteins and mineral oil in it...I was going to it return it, but I remembered what the lovely and amazing Pamela (who happens to have gorgeous hair down to her butt) saying that bleached hair thirsts for the oils processing strips away- so I kept it. It took a bit of time to figure out how much is to much, so my ended up stronger and shiny, rather than greasy....but, I've got it down to a science now. After I wash my hair, and condition with Neutragena Triple Moisture deep conditioner. I aqueeze out as much of the water as I can. Then, I start drying with my ion shine dryer...running my hands through it, pulling t straight. When it's about half dry, I squirt some of the strenghtener ( a little goes a loooong way) into my palm, and rub it between my hands, then I run my hands through my hair, taking care to get the ends....then continue drying.

Once it's dry, I run my flat iron though it (ceramic- ionic), and that's it

Since I started using it, I've noticed that the breakage I'd been experiencing (due to my flat iron adiction ) has stopped...I'd had so much breakage around my face that it looked like my hair was layered (which, technically, it was, but not intentionally). now, those pieces are nearly as long as the rest

I've also found that, if possible, it's best not to wash it everyday...before bed, I gather my hair at the nape of my neck in a scrunchie (elastics leave an indentation..the scrunchie doen't. In the morning, I take it out, and I'm good to go.

    Best of luck to you

I used to use black womens products too, but I still swear by Redkens Smooth Down line. It's made with a bunch of different naturally occuring oils which really moisturize the hair. When my hair was pamela blonde I used Redken Extreme Anti-Snap which is a protein based leave in type of conditioner, it's suppose to help with breakage (and it works, just don't over use it cuz it'll end up drying it out MORE if you use it EVERY day) and then I wash and condition with the Smooth Down line. I LOVE that stuff cuz it kept my hair healthy and shiny even though it was super duper blonde

oh, and with the conditioner in the smooth down line, I bought just a regular cheapo one, like Pantene's super moisturizing one, put that in all over after I was done shampooing, then I kept it in while I washed my body and shaved, towards the end I'd use the Redken Smooth Down conditioner just on my ends, so you don't need to use that much. I would work it through and massage it around cuz it gets throught the hair fairly easy. By mixing the cheapo with the Redken I made the Redken last like four months. That's how i usually get away with spending a crap load on Redken, I mix it with cheapo brands too, and I still get the same effects as if I were using just straight Redken!
