I was wondering how much and why you ladies like to be strippers. I danced for 2 years, but at the end of it all I was so relieved that I didn't have to work anymore.
Would you still do it if you didn't get paid?

If I wasnt getting paid for this, not a shot in hell I'd still be doing it, lol.

never....
Well I'm new, and it still has it's fun "newness" but I know I won't love it like this forever. Nothing is fun forever. When it gets to the point that going to work makes me feel worse than doing something else...I'll get a new job. But right now, I'll enjoy the hell out of it and make some money!
If everything you try is a sure thing, you aren't taking enough risks. If you never fail, you put a limit on the degree to which you can succeed. In short, the only way to win big is to risk losing

Shit no. I need the money, and I won't even do it.

Whilst I do love performing, I ultimately don't do it for free.
Granted, every time I enter a competition I'm making a loss as I have invested time and money to be in the competition (money as in make-up artist, hair stylist, waxing, etc)... with no monetary 'win' at the end of it.... esp with the qualify-ing heats. I'm performing 'for free' in a way there.
With all that said, I'm doing this for the money.. yes. Granted, I am decently suited to it compared with alot of other forms of employment.

I just started as well & I go in & out about how I feel about it. But overall the power I'm getting from it is funny as hell!!! So right now I'm liking it.
Not a chance.
Don't get me wrong though the power is nice but not as much as the $$$$money$$$$![]()
A resounding HELL NO!!!! For fun, I can dance at a nightclub or at a party. Stripping has precious little to do with dancing..........

I like dancing on certain days, ut if I wasn't making the money I am I would not be doing it. I leaveclubs where I don't bank, so there's no way I'd do it just for fun.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

I am exactly like you. I also really enjoy the power I derive from dancing. Having said that, though, I don't think I would be doing it if I weren't getting paid. That applies to just about anything else, though, as well.Originally Posted by Heaven777

Hell!!! Yeah if I made the kinda money I make from dancing from another job I'd bet on the 1st thing smoking....LOL

Well, I have to do SOMETHING to make a living. I like dancing better than almost any other job I ahve had,the hours are good and the money is great.
What I like best, however, is the freedom. I can be late if I want, take time off if I want, wear whatever I want, work my act however I want, hustle however I want.
Best of all, I can talk to (or not tak to ) whomever I damn well please. As much as I bitch about my weirdos, those weirdos pay my bills. When I choose to hang out with Joe Dipshit for a few dances, it is my choice. I can walk away when I want. I can dance as close or as far as I want. IF he is rude or nasty to me, I can say anything I want to him or punish him in any way I deem reasonable, short of assault and battery.
I have worked in Retail, and Emergency Room, and teaching school. In all of those cases, I had to deal with whomever walked in the door adn take whever abuse they chose to heap on me. (Retail was much worse than ER, go figure!) I had to be resopnsible for other peoples stuff (merchandise, equipment) or worse, other peoples kids. As a dancer, I am responsible for my bag and its contents, that's it.
I have quit dancing and come back to it 4 times, and now plan to buy my own club someday, because I jsut can't seem to stay away. I also love the freedom of being self-employed. I can't picture myself ever going back to a regular job!

If the other two jobs I have were financially stable enough to get me by AND keep me comfy... yes. Yes I would.
I love to dance. Love it so much....
When I retire I wont know WHAT to do with myself. I'll probably be dancing around my kitchen to keep myself sane.

Yeah, I'd probably do it for free. I love dancing. But then again, I'm a big time exhibitionist. Lucky for me I don't have to do it for free though. But I do have to make a living somehow. I wouldn't choose to do it for free when I could make a pile of cash instead.
I know im new and this feeling will probably wear off but the way I feel now is if for example I was rich (won the lottery etc.) then I probably still would dance once or twice a week because I enjoy the atmosphere and the exhibitionism. So although I wouldnt need the money I would dance because it was fun.
no----no---no-nnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
It's great that I don't NEED to make $$ when I go to work (occasionally for special expenses) but If I didn't make $$$ I'd quit, shoot I can stay home, volunteer, or chill out at the beach for free.

Well I wouldnt work for free. I like it but its a means of getting a step ahead life so I can rest a little later. Of course I like it when Im making money too![]()

Stage dancing I would do for free because I enjoy it, and it's gotten me into the best shape of my life.
As far as whole "game" that's involved with being a stripper? (LD's, being pushed to your breaking point by certain customers etc...) No. Not a chance. Hate doing it now...

ABSOLUTELY NOT! I like the independence that this job has afforded me, the ability to earn substantially more than a paycheck job, and getting cash daily, but not stripping just for the sake of stripping.

I probably would do it a couple times a year...
when I don't do it for a while
I actually miss it.
But, when I am doing it... I'm sick of it

I'll add my two centavos....
I LOVE dancing - and by that I mean both dancing AND stripping -- but yeah, I wouldn't put up with the b/s for FREE, if ya know what I mean.
I'm "retired" right now, and w--k in an office, which is every bit as much a grind (pun intended) as putting up with the crap in a club. I wouldn't hang out HERE for free, either, if you know what I mean. So, all things being equal, would I rather be here or back in a nice, up-scale club in Phoenix? Yeah.... in the club, for sure. But, Seattle's club scene sucks, so I'm in an office. Yech....

I'm not sure it's a fair question.
After all, a big part of the mystique of stripping is the (sometimes) quick-and-easy cash, right?
There aren't many jobs I'll do for free, even if I love them. For instance, I often refuse to apply for field biology jobs that pay very little money, partly because I just can't live on the small stipends that are offered by some employers, but also because I feel that I've worked really hard to gain my technical skills in that area, and those skills shouldn't be undervalued.
I don't see why stripping should be any different![]()
