Pleistocene Park?
Pleistocene Park?
The scientists are making a big leap of faith - that should they recover intact mammoth DNA, that it would be compatible enough with modern-day elephants to produce offspring. Then they plan to mate offspring. Hm.
A horse and a donkey, I'm venturing, are closer than wooly mammoths and modern elephants, and those two can only produce sterile offspring.
Frankly, I think it'd be cool. But I'd personally prefer to have them wait until they could produce a true clone, with the original DNA intact.
