    Surgical scar/indentation

I know there are several threads on SW regarding how to treat/cover scars (DermaBlend, etc.), but my situation is a little bit different... I had a car accident 2 years ago in which I suffered a compound femur fracture. The place on my thigh where the bone protruded has a slight scar, but it also dents in just a bit, from where muscle/fat was destroyed by the injury/surgery. I also have a scar on my hip (about 2.5 inches long) which I am a little self conscious about, from where they cut me during surgery to put a titanium rod inside (instead of putting me in a cast). I am seriously considering becoming a dancer, so I was wondering if any of you ladies have any suggestions as to what I can do about these scars/the indentation? Thanks so much!

The fact that it is on your leg is great, it is less noticable because of the way lights hit us when we are standing.
Go ahead and find some cover-up that suits your skin if you must.
But I wouldn't really wory about it, guys really aren't that affected by scars, plus you have a story to go with it.

well, I don't think that this would help the indentation
but, LED treatments (not sure which color light) can be used to treat scars...
the treatments aren't supposed to be too expensive either.

    ask a dermatologist or aestitician

my scars from implants are like this, they indent, and it sucks,so i kind of know how you feel!!

theres not alot you can do.but guys dont seem to care all that much,it doesnt affect your money unless you let it. and its probably not as bad as you think it is-maybe they wont even see it or notice it?

No prob, I know dancers that have scars on their breasts and even caesarian scars, a few I knew had to wear a bandaid on their face after car accidents. It really is all about how you relate to customers and feel about yourself rather than what might be on your body, don't let something you can't help get you down....
    Good luck!

I have lots of scars, and they don't hurt me at all dancing. IF you are really self-conscious, you can always dress to cover the scar and/or draw attentin elsewhere.

I have major keloids on my knee and one on my public mound from surgeries. Guys do notice them and like them. Its a great conversation piece. Be proud of your scars! You are a survivor and they are a reminder about how precious life is!

and one on my public mound from surgeries
"public mound" - that's one of the funniest typos I've seen

I have an indented scar here too, and I hate it - is there any treatment at all for this?

Pick certain "camoflauge" costumes, like ripped up chaps, harem pants, sexy hosiery, catsuits, etc., to wear so you don't feel self-conscious and distracted while hustling...by the time you take that off, the customer is not really looking at anywhere you might have a scar...LOL
