Default Got referral slip, but told weight is an issue..

I met with the manager of a club saturday night. he gave me the referral slip to get my sherrif's card (a necessity in Vegas) but told me that my weight is an issue. I know that I have posted several messages about weight loss and such but now I really know that I need to drop some weight fast so that I can start working. I already have cut back on portions and how often I eat and I've been going to the gym pretty regular for awhile...so I guess my questions is---What are the best fat burning/appetite suppressant pills out there now that ephedra is gone? Any helps ASAP would be great!!!!

Well ephedra is back but Im not sure where you can find it now....Tampadancer (I think it was her) posted that she bought Zen or Xen that had ephedra in it and its been working great.

Have you tried the ever popular Tonalin CLA? Combined w/ a balance workout and meal plan it can help you drop fat fast.

I always suggest eating clean food. Read labels too. Im a freak I sit and read labels for minutes on end before I decide.

You can always try diarectic pills and some dieters tea but also drink a boat load of water while you take the pills or you might get constipated.

Personally, I think its unfair that a club gets to tell you that you have to drop some pounds. Dont they know dancing already tones you up very fast?

Hey, girl!!!I hate weight issues...it sucks....Women come in all shapes and sizes, and clientel all have differ view on what a women should look like...But the best advise i can give to you is work out in the morning before you eat anything...this will burn the stored fat first...and eat fiber rich foods like, apples, oatmeal (no sugar), beans. Dont eat anything 3 hours before bed...well i hope this helps some, dont get discouraged what they told you, i bet your beautiful just the way u r....

Ok, I can give you some more good (not necessarily healthy) advice for toning up and losing quick but this would only be effective if you have less than 10 lbs to lose. I don't do the caliper measurement, too scared, but you can use the old BMI as a standby. What is your height and weight? How much do you anticipate you should lose?

A good 3 day diet is:
    1. Oatmeal for breakfast.
    2. Chicken salad for lunch, very light on the dressing.
    3. Fish and veggies for dinner. VERY light on any butter/salt.

Only drink water. Atkins diet says no coffee, but I think black coffee in the morning is good for speeding up metabolism.

Take a 15-20 minute jog in the morning after breakfast. In the evening, do a short warmup on the treadmill and about 45 mins weight training, as heavy as you can go.

This is NOT a healthy lifestyle choice. If I do this for 3 days, it really puts my body into the place it needs to be. BUT it will make you grumpy as hell. Depending on your body, you can lose a couple of pounds and firm up.

Drink lots of water and take the Tonalin.

I don't recommend this for more than 3 days and I am sure there are more fitness oriented members on the site who do not recommend this at all, and you should listen to them.....

Also, cutting back on how many times a day you eat isn't necessarily the best for weight loss. It creates more hunger (which often causes people to eat too much later and/or "fall off the wagon), and slows your metabolism. Most dieticians recommend eating 5-6 SMALL meals a day, and by meals they mean snacks. Ex: breakfast would be an apple and a slice of whole wheat toast, mid-morning you'd have some carrots and a boiled egg, lunch would be 1/2 chicken broiled (skinless) chicken breast and some peas, mid-day would be 1 c. of mixed green salad w/some nuts, and dinner would be a small fish filet (baked) with broccoli and red beans. To do this right, you need to stay within your optimal calorie range for weight loss, but split the meals throught the day so you never starve yourself.

Lexi, did he say he wouldn't hire you if didn't lose weight? I was hired at a club in NY, and they said when they were hiring me that I would have to lose 5 pounds, and I told them flat out it wasn't going to happen. I mean, you always lose a little weight when you get right into the dancing, but I wasn't willing to promise anything. I don't get the feeling a lot of girls said that to them, but they just said okay. Sometimes they are just making pushy recommendations, not actual conditions. If you do 3 or more shows a night, you will probably lose weight quite painlessly. Try going out dancing every night for a week - but don't drink.

When I was told I needed to lose weight at my first audition I walked out and went to audition at their rival club who hired me straightaway. Iv done well at the club that hired me and have naturally lost the weight in my own time from dancing. Maybe you should go elsewhere because now iv realised how glad I am to be working at this club instead of the other one, its so much cleaner and friendlier and they understand the custys want variety.

    Lexi_Skyy,

May I ask which small club you will dance at. I am visiting Vegas next week and I know I will visit The Library and Glitter Gulch. Hope you enjoy yourself in Vegas.

Since I haven't been hired yet I would prefer not to say. Anyways what brings you to Vegas. I hate living here. I've been here for about 5 years and every year I hate it worse. Well that being said....Have a fun trip.

    Lexi_Skyy,

I visit Vegas about 4 times a year for short vacations and to visit the 2 clubs mentioned earlier. There are a couple of ladies still dancing that I have visited several times over a few years and one lady that no longer dances but we still visit each visit.

Once again, GOOD LUCK! I hope you find a club that you are happy with. That is why I still visit the ladies that I met earlier in Vegas. They seem to enjoy themselves at the clubs where they work.
