    Default Dry Skin Brushing

Thought I would post this in case no one else has; if it's a repeat I'm very sorry! DRY SKIN BRUSHING

It is WELL known that the Skin is the LARGEST Organ in the Body, and is responsible for one-fourth of the Body's Detoxification each day, also making it, one of the most IMPORTANT Elimination Organs! The Skin is also known as the "3rd" Kidneys and the Lungs are known as the "2nd" Kidneys. TOXICITY can gather beneath the Skin's Surface from such COMMON Influences such as IMPROPER pH levels in Body Soaps, Skin Creams and Anti-Perspirants, plus Synthetic Fibers worn NEXT to the Skin with ANY of them contributing to a variety of Skin Problems and Conditions.
When you do Skin Brushing, you HELP your Lymph System to CLEAN itself of the TOXINS, that COLLECT in the Lymph Glands. You use a Simple Technique to IMPROVE the Surface Circulation on the Skin and KEEP the Pores of the Skin OPEN, encouraging your Body's Discharge of Metabolic Wastes, and resulting in an IMPROVED ability to COMBAT Bacteria, plus HELPING your Skin to look and feel HEALTHIER and MORE RESILIENT! Skin Brushing is a PERFECT Treatment for SELF-HELP Enthusiasts.

    • Benefits:
    • TIGHTENS Skin.
    • HELPS Digestion.
    • REMOVES Cellulite.
    • STIMULATES Circulation.
    • INCREASES Cell Renewal.
    • CLEANS Lymphatic System.
    • REMOVES Dead Skin Layers.
    • STRENGTHENS Immune System.
    • IMPROVES Exchange between Cells.
    • STIMULATES the Glands, thus helping ALL of the
Body Systems to perform at PEAK EFFICIENCY!
    1. How To Do:
    2. Buy a NATURAL, NOT Synthetic, Bristle Brush, since it does NOT SCRATCH the Surface of the Skin.
    3. Buy a Brush with a LONG Handle, so that you're ABLE to get to the Areas of your Body, that are NOT EASY to reach, when doing your own Skin Brushing.
    4. Skin Brush, before Showering or Bathing, at least ONCE per day, and TWICE, if possible.
    5. Do NOT wet Skin, since it will NOT have the SAME Effect, because this stretches the Skin.
    6. ALWAYS Skin Brush towards the Heart.
    7. Do Circular Counter-Clockwise Strokes on the Abdomen.
    8. Do LIGHTER Strokes over and around Breasts, but do NOT Brush the Nipples.
    9. Brush each part of the Body several times VIGOROUSLY, COMPLETELY Brushing the WHOLE Body.
    10. Brush the Soles of the Feet FIRST, because the Nerve Endings there affect the WHOLE Body, next Brush the Ankles, Calves, and Thighs, then Brush across your Stomach and Buttocks and lastly Brush your Hands to the Arms.
    11. Take a WARM Bath or Shower, which should always be followed by a COOL Rinse at the end to INVIGORATE Blood Circulation and STIMULATE Surface Warmth.
    12. Wash your Brush every few Weeks in Water and let it DRY.

**on edit; not so sure about brushing towards the heart; wouldn't that be bad if you have a blood clot &don't know it? Anyone with expertise here?

    It's good shit!

Dry brushing is believed to stimulate the lymphatic system by aiding in the flow of lymph fluid throughout the body. The lymphatic system plays a vital role in elimination, helping to move toxins through the body. It also contributes to the strength of the body’s immune system. The lymph system flows towards the heart so when dry brushing it is important to brush in the same flow as the lymphatic system.

As always ya just gotta go with the flow! he he he

Thanks Krys for putting up the link!

Yes as a dry skin brusher myself, i reap the rewards. I see it in my skin, i feel great after i do it, (don't do it before bed, as it may rev you up some..lol) And i know all my parts are getting the benefits as well inside!!!!

I always work from the feet up towards my heart!!!!

Ah i just saw the part that you mention about brushing towards the heart, well i am no expert, but if you're dry skin brushing, it should not be hard, but soft strokes, if you do have a clot it may loosen and go to the brain (stroke) or the heart ( heart attack) and i don't worry myself over this, caused by dry skin brushing....don't know. I think a good D.O. doc. may help those of concern with this.

Okay stupid question, but when it says to buy a natural bristle brush, where would one buy this type of brush? is it like a hairbrush or something?

Natural Boar brush's are great! They are softer and real! Plastic will scratch and wont have that "sweep" feeling across the skin. Now i have taken big plastic paddle brush's and tapped my inside thighs with them, as this will lossen any crap stuck there. And used a good ole bread roller on my legs as well!!!

What a goof i am..... It does work for me..

Do a search yahoo/google search .... lots of natural health stores sell them online. Also check at your local health/organic store.

Actually, you could go to an art store--there's a variety of brushes there from synthetic to different real types of animal hair. There's also different thicknesses. I've heard some girls use art brushes for makeup brushes (much cheaper) but since I never use brushes I've never tried it.
But, I always pick a big brush (or the cool foam type ones) and run them over my face while I'm in the store. It feels really good!

^ you can get those brushes at wal-mart for like under a buck. They are natural boar's hair and the handle is removable. They're in the cosmetic section...by the cotton balls I think and the nail implements.

The brushes shown above are good! I started out using that type. I the just moved onto a regular boar bristle hair brush, i found it much easier for me with not a very long handle, or have to take the handle off and just use the bristles in the palm of my hand.

Just was kinda tough to get around the body in tight areas with that thing. They work well, but a regular boar bristle brush for the head is much much easier to get all parts of the body! A plus to the smaller brush, it also teaches you to be flexible!!! And yes hair brushes come in a tad longer handle size too, just not that long.

    Just my .02

oooh that looks like that would feel so good right about now! I have gotten all these itchy little bug bites all over my body and the thought of a brush rubbing all over them sounds great. Only I don't have a brush like that I don't think so I'll have to get one. I'm curious to see how it feels.

^ LOL Bunny- when I lived in the Carribean, I was tormented by biting flies and mosquitoes....Floridians claimed they had bigger biting insects AND swamp cockroaches, and I didn't believe them.
Question- could a loofah pad work as well?

Anything that manipulates the skin so you can feel it works well. Have nothing else at the moment use a dry washcloth!!! I use a roller on the backs of my thighs!!!

I have used a regular brush and just tapped my skin firmly, all this helps aid circulation, not much different from a deep massage...Just cheaper!
