Default Bush a Fiscal Disaster !!!!!!

Who will have to clean up after this irresponsible administration?

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said the president's budget would leave a 2005 deficit of $394 billion and a 2006 gap of $332 billion.

But the budget office noted that Bush's fiscal blueprint omitted the costs of overhauling Social Security, which some analysts have said could cost $2 trillion over the next decade.

Bush's budget also omits any new money for U.S. operations in Iraq and Afghanistan for 2006. The congressional analyst said to keep next year's military operations at this year's levels would probably add about $40 billion to the 2006 shortfall, pushing it to perhaps $375 billion.

Call Allan Greenspan. He can print 400 billion dollars in about a week ! Poof, balanced budget ! Or cut 10% of spending on all social programs, which constitute about 75% of all gov't spending, and poof, balanced budget !

I've got it ! Let's increase income taxes on middle class Americans by 400 billion dollars, while leaving low income workers tax rates and very rich American's tax breaks and capital gains tax rates the same. After all, most of those middle class Americans vote Republican ...

Yes, 3% more in the last election. However most of them are actually moderates. So the radical extremism of the loony republican party with a "mandate" will alienate them. I encourage you to press your extremist agenda. I beg you to!!!!

Strange how the rank and file of the GOP ignore every political trend in the entire US history and believe their majority is permanent and that the people that voted for them are as insane and extremist as the GOP is.
There will always be democrats and there will always be republicans and there will always be shifts in power... There always has been

Are you proposing lowering corporate taxes, lowering mandatory employer SSI/comp/disability payments, and lowering environmental/OSHA compliance costs via relaxed standards ?

The budget office neglected to mention the cost of NOT reforming Social Security or the cost of NOT fighting the war on terror. In other words the democrat plan.

Devalue the US dollar, create rampant inflation and make our international creditors and partners see us as an even worse risk! great idea Melonie...

Well....as usual your numbers are "ass product" and not based in reality.
    http://www.warresisters.org/piechart.htm

a SMALL minority of our spending is "human resources" related....less than military-related expenditures. These programs (not counting education, etc which lost more money) were cut by 20BB to pay for increases in military spending

    I've got it !
    Seriously doubt that!

How about we make a sensible curve "simple tax" that taxes the lowest income folks the least, the highest income folks the most, and requires that all workers are paid enough so they don't have to rely on government services. Eliminate all government subsidies for businesses/programs without larger social benefit (or, better, pulls us back to "congress shall make no law" era where federal governance was a part time job) and get rid of multi million dollar government "PR Campaigns" that are solely directed by the President. Remove presidential appointments to offices like EPA, etc - eliminating politics and letting the most QUALIFIED candidates for those positions (maybe those with a background compatible to their agencis...in this case ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION) get them

Too reasonable, I agree. Too balanced.

Well, Myssi dear, your post ignores the fact that Iraq had NOTHING to do with the war on terror and SSI will pay 100% until 2042.

    But thanks for playing anyhow.

Yes indeed, far too reasonable. For working class and middle class conservatives to get on board for an economic plan, it not only has to screw themselves over, but protect the upper economic 3% who would make the US work place precisely like commie China, if they had the chance.
