    Smiley audition or amateur night?

okay, so i think i feel confident enough to go work in a club...is it better to go into the club and dance for the manager like an audition on an afternoon when its slow...or just to go do amateur night and let them want to hire you?

Its up to you, either way. If you dont feel comfortable in front of tons of people yet, which there will be at a show, then just call and see when auditions are.

yeah, but then they offer money at amateur night too...although i heard some of the contests are already figured out! I'll have to figure out how comfortable I am...I do agency work but a club is entirely different

I hate contests because I am a SORE loser and yes, sometimes they are rigged.
If I were you I would go in and talk to the manager and ask him/her what would be a better way to get hired. You can do amateur night and if you win you get money and probably a job.. But if all you want is to get hired just go in and talk to the manager, if you are a shoe in to be hired start working and skip amatuer night.
All you have to do is ask....
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

I try to skip amatuer night. I think they are a waste of time for me anyhow. Eh I most of them are rigged anyways. Id rather do a 6 min audition stage set. Usually to skip the whole am night I talk to the manager they should let you work no problem. Also though depends on where you work as well.

i say audition - those contests are often rigged and can be scary for a brand newbie

Audition, hands down. Amateur contests can be harrowing if the crowd is bad.
