    Fear Factor

Am I the only one that is totally grossed out by this show? When it was on regular TV, that was bad enough. Now the reruns are on cable. Seems like every time I change channels I'm treated to the sight of someone eating worms or lying in a box with rats crawling all over them. YUCK!!!!

It must be a popular show, but not because I'm watching it. Some come on SWers, confession time. Who watches Fear Factor? I'm trying to figure out what type of person watches this stuff.

*Fesses up* I watch it out of sheer morbid curiosity. I don't really like the physical stunts, I usually just watch the gross outs like the food, laying with insects, or stuff like that. I would/could never eat a meal worm and bloodball pizza, nor would I ever put any body part near a scorpion or spider/tarantula. Just not my style. I just like seeing how gross some people will go for the money. The only stunts that evoke a reation from me are the ones involving live animals, or things like that. I didn't like the stunt where they had to be pierced through the tricep with increasingly larger needles. I also did not enjoy the episode where they blended up the rats (I'm pretty sure that what happened, the rats were already dead btw). That's sick. Some of that stuff pushes the envelope, but then again, they can back out at any time.

Shan.. OMGs.. I HATED the needle episode. I seriously couldn't watch it. Even Dan, who has a cast-iron stomach had trouble watching it.

I used to love this show, really I did. But they take things a bit too far, and it's only gotten worse.

I haven't watched it since that crazy guy freaked out in the vat of blood. That was quite enough for me.

I would do the show. The stuts are safety rigged so I won't be afraid of that. I think those basiclly comes down to luck. I'd eat all the animal parts but I won't eat the bugs, if I see a bee in my room I scream like a girl so thats not happening.

I haven't seen any of the episodes mentioned...I just started watching it on cable, and it's right now progressing from the old-school episodes with regular folk to the episodes where everyone is gorgeous, lol.

I like it, *shrug*. The eating stuff IS gross, and I usually close my eyes half the time, but I love competition shows...so that's probably the type of person who watches fear factor- same type who's into watching sports and other competition.

I enjoy the stunts. The killing of these repulsive lifeforms? Well, I don't like it. Not that I enjoy the existence of maggots in my life, but the thought of killing living "beings" for the sake of ratings bothers me. Can't help it. Give me a tree, and I'll hug the fucker.

Or the one where they went to a horse slaughter plant and made them eat horse parts. I hope somebody picked up an intestinal parasite.

I refuse to watch this show...gross. I also don't watch ANY of the reality shows. Hell, the only time my TV goes on is to watch the Law and Order shows.

That's funny! My favorite shows are the Law & Order shows, but I also like Fear Factor. I don't know why...maybe it's a remnant that whole juvenile gross-out humor left over from my teens? I actually think the show is pretty funny, some people will do anything for money! That doesn't really explain why I watch all those plastic surgery shows, though...

How much money do the winner's get?

I watch the plastic surgery shows sometimes. I like the before and after part, but I usually close my eyes during the surgery.

Fear Factor never appealed to me as a show. I think I've seen it once and changed the channel.

I may have many faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.

I watch it. I've even watched it eating. I can't say I'd ENJOY eating cockroaches but I'd honestly rather do that than some of the underwater stuff. I don't really like to be underwater and have a fear of drowning. Actually I wouldn't want to do any of the stuff which is why I'd never be a contestant on the show. It's not worth it for a CHANCE to win $50,000.

I hardly watch tv at all, but this is one show I'd NEVER watch. I think I did see part of it once, but this kind of crap just doesn't appeal to me at all. If I wanna watch stupid people do stupid stuff for tv, I'd rather watch Springer.

And to think that those fear factor dopes might actually look down on hookers
