Arrow Florida Dancers... where's the love?

I just moved to Florida from Colorado and I can't believe the difference in SC's. In CO, I always had hot dancers walk up and talk to me, request a dance, etc. I dated a few dancers in CO from different SC's (at their request). I'm well built (bodybuilder) and women have always said that I'm good looking. On top of it, I own a very successful business and when I go to a SC, it's not uncommon for me to unload $300-$400 in 1-2 hours on one dancer. I'm not some drooling perv or stalker. I'm never disrespectful. I'm not a licker. I don't ask personal or stupid questions, or do anything inappropriate. In other words, the perfect customer.

In FL, damn I've never been treated so badly! I've walked into 4 different SC's and instead of the usual smiles and dancers approaching me, I get nothing. I mean nothing! Yet, I see dancers walking up to one white guy after the next, talking and flirting, but it's like I'm invisible!! One by one the ladies walk right be me, avoiding eye contact like I'm a two-headed monster. A friend of mine from CO said that he heard Spanish people aren't well liked in FL. He said people in FL think that Spanish people are all Cuban drug dealers or they are broke wetbacks. Is that true? I really want some honest feedback here. Do you avoid certain races of men where you work?

If you dig around a little, quite a few dancers on here have said hispanic men are their least favorite patron to dancer and some purposefully avoid them. I don't, currently I'm in Baltimore but have worked in South Florida. I don't remember any particular hostility about hispanic guys in the two clubs I worked, but I didn't stay that long either.

I've been to clubs in Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island.

Thanks for the info tampafldancer and CrescentLuna. I'm glad neither of you judge customers by the color of their skin but it sounds like many others do. I guess that's it then. My skin color kills me here in FL. It sucks because people OTC see how I live, so I'm not subject to the same level of treatment. When people see my house or the expensive cars I drive, there's no questioning my wealth but I walk into a SC in FL, and I'm reduced to nothing more than a poor, dirty mexican. Wow, got to love it!

Jay, thanks for the advice. I'll probably try a couple more places or different times but if things don't change, I give up. I can't handle standing at the bar like a loser all night, watching everyone else have fun. Maybe I need to start wearing a rolex, suit and tie to override the spanish factor.

Well hun, if you are ever in JAX pm me and come to my club! I never have a problem with customers of a different color...money is all green! Plus I grew up in many culturally diverse places so I learned real quick not to judge, because a$$holes come in EVERY color. Honestly, a nice siut wouldn't hurt...girls love the structured look! But even then, don't give up. Someone is just waiting to discover what a wonderful guy you are and she'll be lucky to spend some time with you.

If South is too far at this time....I myself don't care for the clubs up the way you speak of either too much as i can't go into a few. Need to be shown the ropes? Pm me, i will tell you what clubs are hot for men of colour.

I'd say your spending habits had more to do with your previous success than any of the oter criteria. You built up a history with those dancers back in CO. But since you've moved...

...now you're the new kid in town, and the dancers in FL have no record of your history. So they have to make judgements based on appearance until you establish one.

That might be true, and its not smart on their behalf if it is. But I assure you regardless of what you look like, they're not going to ignore you for long if they see that you're spending money. Do the approaching for dances yourself if need be. There are tremendous benefits in doing the picking as opposed to waiting to be picked.

Well that sucks. Have you considered ASKING one of them for a dance? Some guys hate having to ask, but some guys hate BEING asked, so...

Ultimately, I doubt you've been completely ignored in 4 clubs because of your race. That's like 100 girls who are pretty damn sure that men of latin origin aren't going to spend ANY money. In Florida. That doesn't sound right to me. You sound like a great customer, and I'm sure that you can build a similar reputation that you had before. Now, you get on out there, and give some skanky woman who takes off her clothes and lets men touch her for a living all your money!

well, i live in cocoa beach. i mostly work in jax. but i do work in cocoa beach, well actually cape Canaveral sometimes.

it may not necessarily be you being Spanish but it may be the bodybuilder thing. it's intimidating. i will say though that this small area does not have alot of Latin people so it cant be from bad experience. we do have some Mexican workers that come in and i do see them getting dances. if you went to the inner room on the beach those girls are notorious for not approaching non locals.

have you tried lido's? if not i will be there tonight thru fri. i would be happy to give you a big stripper web welcome. pm me if you want

Are you tipping on stage? I LOVE guys that tip a fiver and ask me to come over to talk to them. I'll def. come by because he showed definite interest and gave me his full attention.

If you aren't tipping there is really no reason for the dancers to think that you have money. And no reason for them to feel the need to chance wasting their time.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

It really MIGHT be your build. I personally dont recall seeing anyone that fits your description (I work in Merritt Island), but I really cant say. Tis kinda hard to make a call for my co-workers. Were you tipping at the stage? A lot of girls wont give you the time of day if you wont give them the time of day when they're on stage.

I appreciate all the feedback and advice. I don't feel comfortable walking up to dancers who are avoiding me but maybe I'll try throwing some big tips on stage. It's just such a strange thing for me (rough on the ego). When I would go to a new sc in CO, all I had to do was stand at the bar and minutes later a dancer would approach me. I liked that (A LOT). I'm not stupid. I know it's all about the money but when a dancer walks up to me and I'm just standing at the bar and there are 50 other guys in the room, I have to assume she liked something about me and that feels pretty damn good. When I feel good, my wallet loosens up real fast. I guess those days are over. In FL, I'm just going to have to flash the cash first, kill the fantasy and accept it all as one cold business transaction.

velvet, you're right. I did try the inner room. I've never been to lido's. I'll have to check it out.

As far as the bodybuilder thing goes, maybe I shouldn't have used that word. It seems to have conjured up images of gigantic steroid freaks - not me at all. I have more of a Brad Pitt type of build. I'm certainly nothing to fear

I'll be pm'ing some of you for more info.

Well keep in mind... NOT tipping us at the stage is rough on OUR ego.

Well, Dave, the problem here isn't your ethnicity, your build, your mode of dress or whether or not we noticed what kind of car you drove up in. Outside of the stripclub environment, you're probably most womens' ideal... goodlooking, nice body, wealthy, well-behaved and considerate. Inside a stripclub there is one thing and one thing only that the dancers are going to find attractive, and that's MONEY. In a regular bar, you can stand there at the bar and probably expect to be approached by women because they'll be looking for your type... but dancers only care about one "type" of custy. We don't care if he's fat, bald, old, ugly, rude, or even if he's a man... we go for the custy who's spending the most money. We don't even care if you're the wealthiest custy who has ever stepped foot into the club and brought their bank statements to prove it... if he's not SPENDING the money he might as well be just any other cheap ass.

In your CO clubs you were known to be a spender, and that's why you got the attention you did... all the other stuff about your looks and behavior were just a small bonus. In fact, I can safely guarantee you that if you were back in the CO clubs and stopped spending the money, you'd join the ranks of all the other Joe Nobody's clogging up the air space at the bar. In FL the dancers apparently don't know you're a spender, you haven't spent money to show that you've got it and are willing to spend it, so they'll stick where they already know they'll make the money, thereby keeping you in the ranks of the Joe Nobody's.

It's simple really... if you want attention from the dancers, SPEND THE MONEY. That's practically the whole point of stripclubs... you can be totally undesireable in a normal setting, but if you're in the stripclub and you're spending the money, you're suddenly desireable. Walking into the stripclub levels the playing field, and he/she who spends the most wins regardless of whether or not you're gorgeous, buff, rich and a charmer or you're fat, bald, old, ugly and rude. If you really thought about this, it's pretty much a no-brainer.

To me, it depends on the time of day, night, whatever, sometimes, I feel like going, sometimes I don't. When a guy walks in, one can pretty much tell what he going to be alike. Some guys are not excatly friendly, and a word to the wise, you learn to avoid these tricky situations.

    Dave,
I was working in Miami, in 4 different clubs. I must say that in general Spanish people where not considered big spenders and difficult costumers as girls were saying they expect much more contact that other people during dances.

I've met big Spanish spenders and bad Spanish spenders, as well as white people. In my opinion your nationality or colour of skin doesn't have to influence the dancers as first impression.

In a club in downtown a lot of girls were really avoiding Spanish costumers. I worked there 2 weeks and 2 (of the 5) best costumers I've ever had there were Spanish!
In North Beach all girls were going to everybody, no discrimination.
I think depends also from the place where you go, I've seen a big difference between the clubs where I was working.
