audition night / pole question !

so, one of the clubs around where i live is having an audition night next week & i soo wanna go give it a shot, even though its not the club i want to work at. BUT, im super scared of the POLE! mainly because i've never really been on one before. i mean, i've swung around ones on subway trains when ive been in an empty car late at night, but thats about it! my boyfriend is sposed to be building me one in his new apartment but hes not moving in until a week or so after the audition night. should i just wait until the next one?.. .

. ..any suggestions? any pretty simple moves that i might be able to figure out and look good doing without any real experience pole dancing?? ive watched a couple videos ive found here n' there, online, but i know practice makes perfect & im afraid ill go up there and..... . who knows!

    help!?!?

    thanks !

LOL no one will expect you to get up on a pole and flip urself on it. When I got up there my first time I just held on to it, walked around it slowly, tryin to be sexy. For some reason it was more exciting for the guys to watch!

I also did this thing where I got down in front of the pole and put my boobies between the pole. They loved that too.

I also did a lil nasty girl move to. I was sittin down, in front of the pole, legs open with my hand on the pole. I was just rolling my body away from it, kinda like if the pole was a dance partner.

I dunno, when I did all that the guys were going much more crazy about that, then the girls who were doing sumersaults an all that crap on stage.

Thin Lizzy, I know several veteran dancers who are very successful and have been dancing for years, who do nothing with the pole. At most they just move sexy and slowly around the pole, so no one will hold it against you if don't use it during an Am night contest.

If you want to use the pole in a limited way during the contest you could do some very basic things like...

    - twirl around it (put your hand on the pole and turn your self like you are dancing with a dance partner.)

    - make like an arch (you can grab the pole at just over your head, put your feet by the base, and then let your body lean out from the pole. You can do this while facing the pole with both hands, or you can do this while standing to the side of the pole with one hand.)

    - Bow around the pole (You can go up to the pole. Place one hand up high, wrap one leg around the pole on one side, on the other side bow down, let your hair toss down, and then slowly stand back up)

    - slide down it (put your back to the pole, and lean against it as you slowly slide down to the floor. Once your on the floor you can do sexy moves with your legs like bicycle circles, etc.)

    - Lean against it (you can hold it for balance while you bend over slightly for a little booty shake)

    - If you are a little more daring you can try to just grab it for a quick spin around on it, but if you don't feel comfortable or have the ability to practice on anything you may want to avoid this, especially if you are not used to working with a pole while wearing your dancer shoes.

Anyway, those are just a few simple things you can do with a pole. If you decide to actually start working as a dancer you'll have more time to learn and practice on the pole.

    Best of luck!
If you can't win. Make the fellow in front of you break the record.

When I first got my job I was told, "Thank god you didn't do anything with the pole. All these new girls keep trying to do stuff and fall on their asses!" I just crawled around and got nekkid. Later, I rubbed myself on the pole, used it as a balance to bend over backward and touch the ground and just hook a knee on and spin a tiny bit. S'what I did.

Very good point. Verfolgung's rundown of moves is nice, but some of those moves will look crap if they don't come to you as easy as walking (esp. the first three). I'd advise STRONGLY against trying anything with the pole for the first time during your audition!!
