    adjusting to night shift

I switched from days to nights a few weeks ago and I can't seem to get myself on a good schedule. Just wondering what the rest of you do...do you go to bed right after work? Do you stay up all night and sleep all day? I work 7PM till 2 AM. And get home around 2:30 or so. I've been going to bed about 4 AM and getting up around 1 or 2 PM...but I'm not getting anything accomplished during the day!!!!

Also, when do you eat? I don't like to eat big meals at work, but I also don't want to eat a big meal at 2:30 in the morning!!!

    Thanks ladies!

Default Re: adjusting to night shift

I usually go to bed right when I get home and wake up around 9 am. That's when my son gets up. As far as meals go, I have a big breakfast and lunch and then a really light dinner. Sometimes I bring a light snack like rice cakes to work, that way I don't get bloated food belly. It takes some adjusting, but you'll get into your own rhythm.
