    Is it possible...?

Is it possible to have fun at a strip club when you have less than 40 bucks in your wallet?

I really need to get out this weekend, after working almost 15 hours straight the last 10 days.

I wanna head to my fave club, but I wonder if I should even try when I almost have tumbleweeds fallin' out of my wallet.

    Should I even bother?

    Hmmm....you know.....now that I think about it...this would make a great premise for a t.v. show...Strip Clubs on $40 a Day...if the Food Network can have a show like that...why can't I?

You can have fun with zero dollars in your wallet as long as you dont mind not enjoying beverages or tipping the dancers. Confusius (sp) say though "Dont expect much attention".

Have to wonder about some of these questions.

Yeah, if you go to a cheap club. Say a $5 cover, a $3.50 beer during happy hour + $1 to the waitress, then $10 in stage tips, which will get you through five dancers at least, then $20 for a lapdance (or two if you're somewhere where they're $10). It'll be a short visit but you can blow off some steam. It's really up to you--if you know that won't tide you over, skip it until you can have the visit you want. If an hour relaxing is enough, go for it.

Unless they have cheap dances (say like $10), I think lap dances are out of the question, but you could sit up front and have some fun at the stage. My first home club in fact was a stage dance only place in Lincoln, Nebraska where you could (and still can) have a hell of a time for $40.

$2 cover, $3 sodas or $4 draft beers (with waitress tip). Five dancer rotation. So even after a few drinks, you could still tip each gal 3-4 bucks on stage, and still have enough for a burger at Wendy's on the way home. Now at my current club, cover is $5, sodas are $4 with tip, and its a 15-20 girl rotation that does a tip walk after their sets. Then I have 5-10 dances on top of that at $20 each.

If you need your fix, then go, but personally, I'd just as soon save my money up. One great trip would be more memorable than three or four so-so ones, not to mention that a larger proportion of your funds go towards the dancers.

Drink before you go. Order something cheap once you're in the club. My club will give you free water, so it's only $1 to tip the waitress. Split up your money in singles. Sit at stage. Tip $1 per song. This should give you a couple hours of fun. It won't piss anyone off because you are spending money. Just let the girls know you came in to watch, and are tipping everyone on stage. Then leave once your money runs dry.

    $40?

    Is this a trick question?

    40 is easily do able

    cover 5-10
    drink 5
stage tips 25-30 or dance and a few stage tips

when I go, I normally spend the following

cover 10, which covers two sodas. What can I say Washington soda only in clubs
    dirty thirty dance 30
    stage tips 20 - 30
    waitress tips 2-4
total 60 to 70 and the dancers only take one tip per two songs, thus 30 bucks last a long time on the tip rail, and I am picky with who I dance with and the dancer has to ask.

cheap trips can be fun and last longer than an hour

I also go with a reserve that I am willing to spend if a few dancers catch my eye and they ask

dirty thirty? Ahhh. You must be going to a deja vu. I must say, sadly, that my club's average customer seems to spend even LESS than you.

No, I'll have absolutely no fun at all if you have less than $40 in your wallet. Break out the Victoria's Secret catalog or have cybersex this weekend and save up for later.

    Short answer: No.

    Long answer: Hell, no.

Strip clubs are luxury purchases. If you walk in with a Ford Focus budget, you are missing the exhilarating joys of the Mercedes, Porsches and Lexi's ( )all around you.

Yes but you gotta use it wisely

First, go on the day shift to a place that's a little less upscale. Make sure there's no cover, a lot of places don't charge cover on the day shift. If possible, find a place with daytime drink and/or dance specials.

Assume a beer with tip is $5. Milk that sucker since you'll want to spend all your money on the girls. That leaves you $35 bucks.

I'm going to assume you did your homework and found a place with $10 dances. They exist, believe me.

Sit at the tip rail and tip every girl $1 that comes on stage. On the dayshift, you'll be able to get through about 10 girls, probably. That leaves 25 bucks.

Find a girl you like, get two dances. That leaves 5 bucks. Tip a few more girls at the rail, and head home.

    ^Excellent money management advice.

But.....is this "fun?" Nursing a single beer, tipping at stage for an hour and getting two laps before your last penny drains out of your soul sounds like an exercise in frustration.

To tell ya the truth, I'd rather you come in with your budget than the yahoos that sit on the tip rail with nothing at all.

ce, are you saying that you worked 15 hours a day for the last ten days and you've only got 40 bucks to spare!? Yikes! Mind if I ask what you do? I'm guessing the restaurant biz???

To answer your question, I'd say a lot depends on your geographical location and your definition of 'fun.' If you're in NYC, I think the answer is a resounding No. If you're in a small midwestern town, the answer might be yes.

If you just want to hang out, have a beer, and look at pretty women, you should do alright. If you want more attention, save your cash. Of course, if you're particularly charming, you might get a little more fun for your money

LOL! I've lived in So Cal all my life, but have never been to a club in CA. But last time I was at Sapphire in Vegas, I wanted to spend a lot of money, but it was a slow Wednesday and there were SO FEW DANCERS! So sometimes, it is ridiculously hard to find someone to spend money on!

I only had 40 to spare this week...I get paid this Friday, but I wasnt quite sure if my sanity was going to hold till then.

I get paid on a bi-weekly basis....so with this check I can have that Mercedes fun talked about earlier....and by the way, what's wrong with a Ford Focus....I drive a Focus....got a helluva deal on it too....anyway....you asked Nicolina what do I do....No, not in the food biz...I manage the operations of a small town radio station that is being renovated to fit with the rest of the 21st Century...I've been working the long hours because the rest of the office is not as tech-savvy as I am.

Anyway, I was just wondering if it was possible, and apparently....it is....thanks for the info!!

Interesting, ce! I love radio. It's my preferred medium for news and entertainment.

Does that mean you went and had a good time? Won't you share? (Of course, if you got great mileage for your forty bucks, you'd better post it in the TripReport thread on Blue )

Clubbing is a very expensive hobby. Most guys drop 40 bucks in the first 5 minutes and it goes on from there. From my viewpoint I cant imagine having fun within that budget. OTOH several of the posters laid out senarios where the $40 can be stretched out for quite a while. I suspect the fun factor will be all yours and not shared with the dancers but perhaps that was your point anyway

My youngest is 19 and has only been clubbing once (his older brothers bachelor party as described in a previous SCJ TR). He had some money to spend at the festivities thanks to me LOL Afterwards we talked about it. He had a great time but made a fairly mature comment "Dad, I don't think I can afford this until I get to be your age". I hope he has some playmoney before then but he wasnt far off the mark.

Charismaticenigma do what you want to do don't lesson to the others. Sorry folks the man needs to cut loose. Whats fun for you may not be fun for others! $40 is a little low but so what it's your money do with it what you will. Life is to short to not go out and have fun, no matter what it is. It's very important to unwind after a hard week like that go out and live it up even if $40 will only last an hour or so!

Hey, he said he had a budget and wanted to know if it's possible to have fun. He won't have as much fun as if he dropped half a grand, but if he's desperate, that's a road map at least.

Alternatively, he could get two beers, a dance, and tip everyone a few bucks at the rail.

Least i've ever brought was 80$, and that was too a pasty club that only had stage tipping. Blew through it in about an hour, 40$ would last me half that (and would probably last about a single stage set in a real club).

Here's how I'd do it at my favorite club on a Mon-Thu after work:

Pay the $3 cover and ask the bouncer/doorman how it's going. If you see a change in the weather coming, like a thunderstorm from the west, comment on it.

Order the "afternoon special" $3 pitcher of beer and tip the bartender/waitress $2, because she's the best friend you can have in a neighborhood bar kind of club.

Watch one of the four sports screens, but keep your eye on the stage for the kind of dancer you like. When you see one you want, go to the stage and tip her. Give honest compliments. If you see a petite new dancer and tell her you LOVE small boobs, she might hang out with you for a while.

Be interesting in conversation. Listen with empathy. If she has a problem, give her useful information that will help solve it. If you already know other dancers, wave, smile, and give them recognition.

If you're with a dancer you like near the end of your stay, tell her you have to leave, but you have time for a dance. You can make suggestions and tell her what you like, but don't grab. You want her to feel comfortable with you.

Be fun and you can spend a couple of hours for under $40.
