Default For all you make up divas...

As an official Live Journal Addict, I try to find communities/posters that are helpful, as well as entertaining.

And I'm a make up whore. Seriously. I live for it, and I end up being asked to do other dancers' makeup. Huzzah!

So I found a community just for really detailed/dramatic/striking/stunning/unique eye makeup designs. It rocks my socks right off my lil legs. Even if you arent on LJ, check out some of the threads there. These ladies are SO talented. You can find make up ideas for everything from sultry, smokey eyes, to glamazon punk goth fun to whatever. Some gals post how they did it, most post brands/colors used for each idea. Lots of pictures. Some gals even sell off makeup, and they have some great deals.

So check it out. Tis fun, I swear! Dont mind the name, its all in good fun.

Yea that is some good makeup artistry! I'm not much of a makeup wearer...but you never know when your gonna need to look your best. The colors are so VIBRANT! I love a person who isn't afraid of color.

Wow, that site has some pretty wild ideas. I am a stay at home mom...don't get out much, but I refuse to be one of those moms who just let themselves go! My question is, how the hell do you get everything to blend in so well....When I try, I end up looking like Tammy Faye! lol.

MAC is definitely good, it comes in TONS of shades and different finishes too (shimmer, matte, pearl etc) Also, if you've heard of "make up for ever" it's reallyyy good too.

I just joined this group. I haven't been using lj as much lately but I'll have to check on this group. I have been wanting to buy some makeup lately but i'm scared to go to the mall and do it because last time I went just looking for eye shadow and ended up buying $300+ worth of makeup. Maybe ebay would be a better way to go.

I use these brushes I got from Alexis Vogal cosmetics, and I've also tried q-tips for blending. I think my problem more than anything is where to put the eyeshadow. lol I feel so stupid...I do ok with neutral colors, but if I use something dark, my eyes never look even, and it just looks bad, I'm new to dark colors. Maybe I just need practice?

yeah, practice makes perfect. For blending with dark colors in the crease, I use my blending brush (either MAC 217 or 224 [the 217 is good for stippling under the brow too]) and make little circles. To apply the dark colors in the crease I do so sparingly using my small concealer brush MAC 242.

ok I described that backwards but hopefully you get the idea.

Either MAC or Kryolan. If I were gonna get Kryolan, I would go through Shrinkle...

Shrinkle is awesome! She is so adorable, I have purchased Kryolan from her, it's great. Make up forever is really good quality as well, the colors are very highly pigmented.

Shrinkle is an Asian clothing designer in San Francisco who is near the Kryolan Headquarters in CA and buys the makeup to sell online. Kryolan is a GREAT long-lasting makeup, perfect for stripper wear. It takes DAYS to wear off if you don't wash it.

I agree! Although I don't think I'm brave enough to wear that much eye makeup. But it did make me want to put my makeup on more carefully! It would take me forever to put on that much makeup! I favor more of the Pamela Anderson cat eye look for night, and a smoky brown eye for during the day.
