Sad I messed up my first night

I always wanted to be an exotic dancer & was delighted when a popular club hired me on the spot no audition (big mistake). I started work last night & even after 3 tequila shots I couldnt work up the guts to get out on stage ,I'm nooooo stranger to dancing or getting naked in public (aka the nude beach) but for some reason I'd start hyperventilating & shaking when it came closer to my turn, eventually the owner took me a side said she'd "really love to have me at her club but is too afraid of traumatizing me".

I managed to talk her into letting me having two more chances ,Is there ANYTHING I can do to get over the first time jitters???

I start again tomorow (& last chance on sat )

Girl don't stress....It is really hard to get up there and be judged/stared at by everyone....
I was in a similiar situation....I came out to vegas about 8 mos ago strickly to dance.... I never set foot in a stripclub before, and decided that if I was going to do it that I'd make the best of it and move to Vegas....I was living in arizona and had a great job, but one day I had enough and packed my bags. When I got to vegas i was really scared I only had $200 in my pocket, and was staying in a seedy hotel. After getting licensed and all (which took a lot longer because I didn't have a birth certificate) I got hired at the Olympic Garden. I was excited and extremely nervous, and even had regrets. My first night onstage I didn't know what the hell I was doing and got wasted just to get through the evening. Being on stage gave me a rush, and I left with the same amount of money in one night then i did working a whole week at my old job. It took a lot of guts for me to come out to this city, but I left with a goal and I'm on my way to conquering vegas.........
What was helpful for me to get through the first (extremely hard) couple of months was keeping the goals that I set for myself in mind.....I moved out here with nothing and now I have my own place, furniture, hot tub, etc.
drinking alcohol may get you through some nights, but its not the answer.....developing a character you can play is...whether it be the diva or the sultry seductress, or the sweet girl next door, and play out these roles onstage. (I've found that wearing a wig or hat help me get into my character) In the beginning i didnt know what i was doing onstage, but it comes with practice.....start out with some basic dance moves and move very slowly, run your hands over your breasts and arch your back. dont forget to make eve contact and blow kisses. Be honest with your viewers...my first time onstage I told everyone at the tip rail, and they clapped for me which totally loosened me up.one even gave me a $20 tip just because it was my first time. But I'll never forget my legs shaking and someone in the croud pointing it out, laughing. I said it's my first time sweetie i bet u couldm't get up here....he said hell no, and gave me credit and a fat tip!!!!!!! Good luck to ya gir land I hope this helps...

    Hi, I'm Jowanna. (-:
Perhaps you can ask to start early and do the first podium whilst the club is empty or extreemly quiet or to do a podium with another dancer. Some clubs will allow you to not do any podiums for the first few days, but really the sooner you get if over with the better! It's really not so bad belive me. Just get up there, it doesn't matter if you're good or bad, I've yet to see a dancer booed off stage or humiliated by the crowd and belive me I've seen some pretty shite dancers. No-one cares, you'll be admired for having the guts to get up their regardless! The way I looked at it before I did my 1st podium was that I've definatly made a bigger ass of myself publically than I ever could do stripping for 15 minutes, so what the hell, lol! And if people laughed at me well at least I'd made them laugh
    - I figured most of the crowd would be pretty crap if they got on the stage. My 1st podium turned out great but if you don't like it well at least you've had a go!

First off, there is a difference between a nude beach and a stage. On stage everyone is staring at you(of course you are the star at that moment). People go to nude beaches, not necessarily to stare at hot naked chicks-they go there to be free and if you didn't notice, almost everyone there is naked. Anyhow, I have never recommended drinking at work. Yeah, it loosens you up but many girls, once accustomed to doing so, find that they need to do it every night to work. They think they look better, when in all honesty, they usually look worse.
Use your confidence, that's what people want to see. It may sound bad-but when you are on stage-own your stage because at that moment you are the shit. You may come off a bit cocky but the minute i exit that stage the cockiness goes away because i'm not in the lime light anymore. Good luck and don't let HER give you another chance-give yourself another chance instead. You will be fine-not to mention you have so many ladies here that want to help you.

Re: I messed up my first night

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I did it, I did it................................I DID IT!!!!!

Firstly thank you all for the support , encouragement & tips

I did my first dance/s on friday night with the help of another dancer named Bridget (I'm forever in your debt). She told me too go on stage with her & only concentrate on her while we enteractively danced & needless to say I found her method quite helpfull & the hardest thing about it was trying not to laugh or whisper "What do we do next?"

When my shift was over I'd done 4 private dancers & found the whole experience alotta fun & ALOT less painfull then I first thought & surprisingly quite funny at times (which relaxed me alot). Now I cant wait till my next shift on friday night, untill then I better get practicing my dance moves

    Thanks, Kitten

Good for you,it's not as scary as it might seem.I remember my first time though, knees shaking, sweating, stomack churning.Now,10 yrs later after 100's or 1000's of shows and dances it seems like nothing.

    Keep up the good work!
