I have nasty purplish bruises from pole work (I'm a newbie). The other dancers tell me that it won't show on stage but I still feel self conscious about them. Does any know any good ointmentand concealer especially for leg bruises?

Sally Hansen has this stuff called airbrush legs. It's like body makeup. I know MAC does too. But to prevent bruises, try taking Iron. That should help make them disappear quicker too!

Arnica gel and tabs, found at any natural foods store

You will also find that the bruises will occur much less frequently after you get more practice on the pole. This has been true of almost every newbie I have worked with.
I suspect you instinctively learn to move in a more flowing fashion, which would make bruising less frequent. I know I bruised a rib doing one trick, before I had a lot of experience with it, and the next time I did it a little differently, lol! I think slower is better when it comes to pole work.
But I did know a dancer who constantly had trouble with bruising, even with iron supplements, etc. She was phenomenally good on the pole and kept at it even with the bruising, she just loved doing it so much.
