    Default Moving on.Tell Custy?

Here's a Poll for you ladies that have regular customers.I'm curious as to how this type of thing is handled. You know you're going to quit soon so what do you do about the regs?

I just recently found out a Dancer that i've been patronizing for a while has quit,She made subtle comments as to possibly not comming back from her home state and a goodnight that consisted of "If i don't see you again","goodbye".Reflecting back on it all it's sad.I would really have liked her to sit down with me and talk about it.

Amusing, I'm in that same sort of situation.. I actually don't have regs anymore, and if they do it's a loose sort of friendship and they know that while they sit with me and perhaps get a dance or two with me.. they are free to patronize any other girl in the club that they may wish to.

Then again the ones that I consider friends, I have told and they are happy for me.

It is a shame she did not sit down and tell you to your face.. it sort of denotes a bad way of doing things on her part. IMHO.

Custys often get attached to dancers and dancers to custys, usually for entirely different reasons. I think its just good business and proper etiquette to let an associate know that you are moving on.

I'm probably moving across the country in 60-90 days, and I've already let my regular circle of dancers know this. It's just considerate.

Only if there's a real friendship there. Don't go out of your way or anything. He'll find someone else.

A dancer and a regular have a business relationship, but it is still a relationship. If and when my ATF moves on I would like to know so I can say a proper good-bye. Also, I would be willing to spend alot of money that last night.

On the other hand, if you have a regular who is needy or inappropriately attached then I would not say a thing, even if he has been polite. This would be a somewhat cruel lesson on the true nature of the biz. Sometimes we need to learn the hard way.

If it were a dancer whose regular company/entertainment I enjoyed, I would want to know.

If I were a dancer and a regular customer, whose company/entertainment I enjoyed, were leaving, I would want to know.

That said...there's telling someone you're leaving, and telling someone where you're going. The latter should occur only if you still want that someone in your life after you've moved on.

I told my favorite regs when I left . I also played a little "matchmaker" between my favorite remaining dancers and customers.

And another thing, why miss out on the goodbye gifts many regs give

If you have a customer who has been a loyal regular for some time and who chats with you on the phone randomly, it is only polite to tell him you have quit, or won't be dancing in his town anymore. With this type of customer, a friendship has been built, albeit it business in nature, but it is still the right thing to do.

For other types of customers who randomly come in the club and with whom you have no way to communicate, a goodbye isn't neccessary.

A stripper I was a regular to recently left. Not only did I greatly appreciate being given notice, I came on all her remaining scheduled days and spent a lot more money than I otherwise would have.
