    Default More issues with glamour

So I got out on the stage and I looked amazing in a long stretch blue velvet gown. I had some great music lined up. And then I realized . . . . .

I can't dance in this dress!

I know I will have to have the side seams opened up a little bit, but my bigger issue is, what do I do? I cannot picture myself spinning around a pole, doing floorwork, or in any other way acting like a stripper in this gown. More like, I can picture myself lying across a piano singing "diamonds are a girls best friend."

Also, what do you do for the little special show you give the guys when they tip on stage? Most of the girls at my club either stick their crotch in the guy's face or lean off the stage and give a pretend blowjob. (The stage is so high, it makes them look like ducks going bottom-up to look for a fish! ) I do this sutff too, in my motorcycle slut costume, but it jsut doesn't seem to go with the gown.

What can I do in this thing that is not going to look completely tacky and silly? (I'm attaching a pic of the gown, jsut so you can get an idea. It's an old picture, I've lost a lot of weight since then. )

That's why gown club girls are known for the "two step"..It's impossible to really get down and dirty in a gown..The reason clubs encourage wearing the gowns is to project a cleaner, upscale showgirl image.

Maybe watch some old marilyn movies like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes etc. to see how she dances in a long gown.. Also maybe get some gowns made that are converible..I have 2 like that. They detatch to a short dress and then I'm able to move around a bit... I'll out pics up soon?

would you be willing to alter the gown? I personally only favored gowns that were slit to the hip on both sides.

    BTW I love your gloves.

Maybe you can add some hand movements and a shawl dancing as a way to add to the dancing. 2 minutes of hand, shawl or fan dacing interspersed throughout a 10 minute stage show will add some glamour and will definetly make you stand out!

Nina: Could you explain about how you have the dresses altered? I now have 4 of them that I have dug out of the closet and/or rescued form the dollar rack in the thrift sotre, and the St. Vincen't store down the stereet has another that I want to get my hands on!

Can you suggest any movies that would feature the kind of dancing you are talking about?

LSM: I am definitely going to have all my gowns slit up the sides. THe way they are now, I can barely show my toes, never mind a little bit of leg!

Peachez: A terrific idea! I can use gloves, stockings, bra, corset with garters, etc. I can definitely work this one.

BTW, I am on stage less than 5 minutes. I can do 2 songs that are cut to 2:25 each, or one long one for the full 4:50 minutes.
