Default dancing for people you know

okay I am so new at this I havnt even started yet.
the one thing that is really holding me back besides I have no money for food right now let alone gas money (that has to get me to the teleamarketing job *gags*) or money for cute costumes. is that I may see some one I know. so what do you do when that happens beside keeping your posie and do your job? how do you handle the after shock. I am only 21 and dont want my first class reunion to be OMG she is stripping her way through college.

I guess you need to come to terms with dancing first. If you are ashamed of people seeing you, maybe you shouldn't be there.

That being said, no one accidently walks into a strip club, accidently pays to get in, accidently orders a drink and accidently enjoys the show. If you see someone you know in the club, know that they are there because they have no problem with strippers doing their job. It is also possible that they may be thinking the same thing you are, "what if she tells everyone she saw me here?"

In the past I've danced for people I know, and it was no problem. I've had people ask me not to mention I saw them at the club, and I've had people go blabbing that they saw me. Either way, all that matters is you are paying your bills and f--k what the gossips say. They'd be talking about you, regardless of your job.

    Go get that money girl!!

    thanks sweetie,
thats pretty much what I have been thinking, plus I look nothing like I did before (bad bangs, baggy clothes, very ana) it helps to hear things from people who know.

Can only give you my indirect experience of UK dancers, (several are my friends), but they follow the following rules:

    (a) Don't dance close to where you live: working 10 - 20 miles away reduces the chances of meeting someone you know.

    (b) Work under a stage name and don't give out personal details about yourself.

    (c) If necessary change your appearance slightly: work in a wig and use different make up to your normal life.

    (d) Only tell a close and trusted circle of friends and family that you are a dancer - the more people you tell, the more chance of the information leaking.

    (e) Keep an absolute separation between people you meet at work, and your social life. If there isn't a cross-over, information can't leak.

As Genevive says; no-one accidentally walks into a strip venue - it's very much a minority activity with only a small part of the male poulation venturing inside a strip club. Thus the chances of a someone you know seeing you at work is pretty small.

    Hoping this helps....

    Phil.
