    Newbie questions

We don't do stage name threads here as you'll notice from the above sticky topic

I haven't started dancing yet, but I got a couple of questions. Also when I buy clothes how much should I spend on everything? Since I'm going to be just starting out and don't have any money. Would like a 2 hr. drive be too far to go to a club because that's the nearest one I could find where I live ( Northeast, Iowa)? I have heard people mention a license to strip, does anyone know if Iowa has one of those, or if it costs anything to get one? Is 19 too young to work in a club?
    Thanks for your help!

You should spend as little as you can. eBay is a great source for inexpensive shoes and outfits.

If two hours is the closest club, that's your drive. You will probably want to go up for a few days at a time and find a hotel. Priceline's good for that.

I have no idea if you need a license to strip--these things are regulated by cities, not states, so you would need to call the club in the city you wanted to work in and ask them.

Again, the age you have to be to work in a club depends on the area you're in. Call the club and ask them.

First off,Pick a name that has personal meaning to you.Next be sure that it is easy to pronunce, remember you'll be yelling it all night at drunk people over loud music.Just be sure that it's something that you like and can deal with being called for a long time.Once you start with a name it's very hard to lose it without changing clubs.
Secondly,I would only buy 3 or 4 nice outfits to start out with.Don't go overboard with these as you don't know if you will like the job and stay.If you deside that dancing is what you want to do invest in better and more elaborate things latter.Just remember to try things on and see what works for you.Be sure they are easy to get off and they fit.You don't want tops so tight that they get stuck on your boobs nor do you want underwear that leave un-attractive lines on your body. There is nothing more unprofesonal than a girl on stage struggling to get her clothes off.Instead sink most of your money in a good pair of shoes. You'll be standing most of the night so be sure that they are comfortable and that you can walk in them.I also don't advise anything under a 5 inch heel with a 1 to 2 inch platform. Most of the taller shoes have chunky heels so it makes them easer to balance in so don't be intemidated by them.If you bruise easily I would recomend boots so that they cover more of your leg and you can wear padding.
Clubs vary from place to place so you'll just need to call around and see what the laws are in your area and if at all possable go to the clubs that you want to work at as a customer. If you can't get in as a customer call and say that you are interested in becoming a dancer and would like to see the club before you set up an audition. Most club management will jump at the chance to hire new girls.Talk to the other dancers and always trust your own judgement on a place. If it seems shady it more than likely is.

The Lumber Yard is near Des Moines. It's a lap dance house and there is a lot of money there. Iowa doesn't require a license to work so you are ok there.

Depending where you are in northeast Iowa, you may be closer to Carroll. If you even come down to Cedar Rapids, drop me a PM.
